Hey there, quick question:

If I, an Artificer (lvl 11), Twin Spell cast "Lower Spell Resistance (http://dndtools.eu/spells/draconomicon--92/lower-spell-resistance--1041/)" from a scroll, what happens (assuming i beat the fort save both times and have the UMD buffed enough to beat the 44 UMD DC):

-22SR, down to a max of 0 SR. (-11 SR for every casting)
-15SR (-11 on the first cast, -4 on the second, to the "max" mentioned in the spell)

basically I'm unsure if the Maximum of -15 to spell resistance only affects the maximum SR reduced per casting, or the maximum effect this spell can have on a creature, even if cast repeatedly.

Thanks!

the maximum reduction of 15 means a maximum reduction of 15. multiple castings can't help, like how ray of enfeeblement can't drop someone below 1 str.

In addition: "...a character taking two or more penalties of the same type applies only the worst one." (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicOverview/castingSpells.htm#bonusTypes) (PHB, p.171) You're casting Lower Spell Resistance on the target twice, once for -11 SR and again for -11 SR. These two penalties are from the same source and so don't stack, they'd only take the larger penalty, meaning -11 SR total.

Thanks a lot - would there be other ways to keep reducing the target's spell resistance? Anything Dragon that gets past the first few age categories quickly becomes annoying.

The important part is that it has to affect spells cast from spell completion and spell trigger items.

Assay Spell Resistance will effectively knock 10 off their SR.

I think depending on how you read it that only applies to spells you cast personally, since spell trigger and spell completion both use the CL of the creator, not the user.
