Has anyone tried this out before? Some people mentioned some of the more interesting DnD creatures, and I'd wonder how making them battle would go.

Solar, I choose you!
What Solar should do?
Solar uses Gate!
Solar uses Gate!
Solar uses Gate!
Solar uses Gate!
Solar uses Gate!
Solar uses...

I regret nothing.

I like it. Just don't use the d20 system for it.

There's also the issue of using certain types of monsters (i.e. the Thoon Infiltrator, or pretty much any BBEG material).

Honestly it'd just be a better idea to homebrew d20 Pokemon instead of using Monster Manual material.

I use a few of them, the ones that at least look like they would fit in the setting. Like vulpix, rydon, and so on. I just try to give it the stats of the closest animal that would fit it. And maybe give it spell like abilities that work close enough. I think vulpix I just made a fox, with burning hands every 1d4 rounds (just called it a breath weapon instead) and orb of lesser fire 3/day.

Google "D20 Pokemon".

Seriously... D20 pokemon has rules for using Beholders and other DnD monsters?

D20 pokemon has rules for using Beholders and other DnD monsters?

No, but it has rules for actually capturing monsters and using them to fight in a meaningful way, which is the more salient issue in the first place.
