So I was looking at the illithid savant and it is a very interesting idea and I think it could be decently re fluffed into a savant of a different kind, someone who can see something and mimic it after a time. The only question is how to work this into a class that doesn't allow for the utterly broken things that you can pull off with the class as written.

A few thoughts I had are

1. Make a defined list of abilities that they could mimic by viewing a certain type of character, this would make them kind of like factotums but it leaves something to be desired in the way of flavor.
2. Make their mimicking ability dependent on having an example of the ability he is mimicking constantly around him. (A character pc or npc) without an example around him he would lose it after a while
3. (The hardest) dig through heaps of class features to figure out a good selection of possibilities to make available to him.

A couple goal principles.
1. I want this to be something that could fill a spot in high op play.
2. I want it to be able to be thrown into a lower op game and not be broken.
3. I want it to have a fun and unique flavor.
