portable hole opens on its own particular nondimensional space
bag of holding opens into a nondimensional space

If a portable hole is placed within a bag of holding, it opens
a gate to the Astral Plane. The hole, the bag, and any creatures
within a 10-foot radius are drawn there

Ok so we have a Type 1 bag - weight 15lbs - and a portable hole - using the appropriate crafting feats - we manufacture these to sit at the end of an arrow - now in theory when the arrow strikes its target or within 10ft of it - poof they all go away - the question is the arrow would have an off balanced weight of the bag and in theory cause a major penalty to hit and perhaps range - so what would be reasonable fo this - and can we achieve a similar result by having 2 portable holes interact with each other - the DMG does not cover that. but it seems the result is 2 nondimensional space's could cause a rift.

Well for one, physics doesn't exist in DnD. Momentum also does exist. So you shoot an arrow with the contraption on it and the arrow hits something... and does nothing. Because there are no rules to make it do something. Also, google image Portable Hole Arrow.

Second: the portable hole is an extradimensional space, and the bag of holding is a nondimensional space. So putting a portable hole into another portable hole does nothing special, and in fact you could open a second portable hole up on one of the surfaces inside the first portable hole.

You would have to create a mechanism that forced the Portable Hole inside of the Bag of Holding upon impact. Otherwise, it would do nothing.

the portable hole "Causes" an extradimensional space when open - but " opens into nondimensional space" like the bag of holding

The bag of holding opens into a nondimensional space - DMG 248

Portable Hole once opened causes an extradimensional space 10 feet deep to come into being, Each portable hole opens on its own particular nondimensional space - DMG 264

the (portable hole arrow image via google search is the subject of debate) and the question still is short of RAW which says if X goes into Y that they produce a 10ft poof - they are both still open into a nondimensional space - just 1 when open causes extradimensional space. - but in the quest for the arrow of death the hole is never opened it just gets shoved into the bag of holding. so 2 - opens into a nondimensional space objects.... in theory

The answer is "ask your DM." There is no RAW for this.

Cant u use some contingent spell to either supress one of the extradimentional items, or hell, just cast that "rope into the sky" spell?
