The campaign I'm currently DMing is reusing the same setting from our group's previous campaign. One of the PCs in the last campaign was a barbarian with a passion for taxidermy, who liked to collect and experiment on the corpses of his victims. The players recently found a creature of his craft, a set of hide armour constructed from a few dozen corpses. The old PC had also had the armour enchanted, so it's got a +2 enhancement bonus. My question is:

What would be a good, unique effect that might be applied to this armour to make it more useful/funny/memorable? The players are all 10th-11th level.

Also, does anyone have any good ideas for what to name the item? Something a half-orc barbarian with seven intelligence might come up with?

Well name wise how about Patchy Armor, and as for effects let them gain one ability from one of the many creatures whose hides make up the armor. Make up a list of about 20 or so and then roll every day on the chart and they gain the ability for the day.

What creatures is this hide armour made from?
What sort of useful/funny/memorable things it should do would probably be very dependent on what animals/creatures were used to make the armour...
Also, what sort of quality is this armour? I'm thinking a tattered thing made up of all different colours and textures...??
If this is the case, perhaps a negative mod to cha because its ugly and smells, but then makes up for it with a big bonus elsewhere or something like that...

The last campaign was very long and featured varied enemies. We did fight a lot of Dragons, Abberations, Drow, Lycanthropes, Undead, and Evil Outsiders in particular, though, and aforementioned barbarian collected parts from basically every new monster we faced.

I like the idea of the charisma penalty (maybe change to charisma-based skills).

a circumstance or perhaps morall bonus to intimidate checks would fit thematicly.

if it somehow imparts any of the vivasectionists knowlage then a sneak atack die or extra favored enemy might fit.

Small amounts of energy resist say 2 points or a plus to saves against an energy type.
Maybe DR 1/silver or bashing or a conditional AC bonus.
Let it count as a masterwork item for several skills or as a bigger boost if it's been enchanted.
Extended or extra rage.
Grant a natural attack.
Grant a bonus to one or more combat maneuvers.
Function as a cloak of displacement randomly say one round in twenty.
+caster level or free extend to polymorph spells and other themed spells (enlarge person, bull strength etc) cast on the wearer.

+1 all energy resists, DR1/-; no matter what the attack is, some part of the armor is immune to it. -5 to all opposed charisma checks; no one trusts a guy wearing their father's face as a shirt.
