Does this spell exist?

Speak with Plants, Speak with Dead, and Speak with Animals all exist but is there a Speak with Objects spell? Maybe a Speak with Stone?

For Druids using Speak with Plants to talk to the trees they want to Awaken to find out if said trees want to be Awakened can be nice and flavorful.

I'm looking for spells that would work similarly for potential Golem materials. Doubtful it'll have any in-game effect but it would sure be cool. :smallsmile:

Objects have no conscience to speak to. I suppose you could Animate Objects and find some way to talk to them. But, since they have no intelligence or awareness to speak too, there is no spell. Speak with Dead speaks to the soul of the dead guy, Speak with Plants is sorta limited to weak emotions, and Speak with Animals is just like Tongues, you can speak in the animal's language.

Object Reading (a psionic power) exists, as do a pair of gloves that can use it's effect at will.

Googling Stone Tell did get me this (https://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/fw/20021025a) as well, almost a literal speak with stones spell. Spell called Deepsong, only works in the Underdark or similar environs though.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but the urban druid class has a spell that allows you to talk with a building or a city.

Edit: I believe it is called commune although been a while since I looked at the spell

A 'Speak with City' spell would be great, sadly Commune (http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Commune) isn't that spell.

However, you did lead me to the Commune with Nature and Commune with Earth spells, so thank you.
