PF: Energy Resistance Question

I'm working on transferring my favorite 3.5 Paladin character into Pathfinder, and noticed that for favored class options out of the APG that human paladins can take energy resist up to 10 against any energy type. Now, this character loves to carve up the undead, so I was wondering if I could take energy resistance against negative energy.

Not as far as I know (I think it is more elemental energies such as fire/cold/sonic/acid).

But I'm sure your DM would allow it since it is not overpowered at all and it would seem to be fitting to the character.

As a matter of fact, I think you could. The FC bonus does not limit you to a specific type, nor does it even limit you to the 5 types listed in the Resist Energy spell. So you could indeed pick negative energy, and gain protection from things like an evil cleric's channel energy
