Hello fellow scribes...

The Forgotten Realms spell:

UNDEATH TO DEATH
Necromancy
Level: Sor/Wiz 6, Clr 6, Repose 6
Components: V, S, M, DF
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Area: Several undead creatures within a 50-ft.-radius burst
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Will negates
Spell Resistance: Yes
Undeath to death snuffs out the animating forces of undead
creatures, killing them instantly.
The spell slays 1d4 HD worth of undead creatures per
caster level (maximum 20d4).
Creatures with the fewest HD are affected first; among
creatures with equal HD, those closest to the point of origin
of the burst are affected first.
Material Component: The powder of a crushed diamond
worth at least 500 gp.

Does this spell work/affect all undead creatures?

Thanks

Yes, as long as they are not immune to magic (demilich). Why wouldn't it?

So long as they don't have HD higher than the max you can affect with your roll, yes. Anything with the Undead Subtype makes a will save vs. re-death.

The 3.5 version inherits the HD limit from Circle of Death. No creature with 9 or greater HD can be affected.

Thanks...

As a follow up, I was wondering about demi liches and positive energy. What if, a cleric casts Mass Heal, would that hurt a demi lich or is their inate magic immunity over ruling this?

I would say, that even though a demi lich is immune to magic, it would not me immunnity to the positive energy of the healing spell. Nor would it be immune to lay on hands!!!! Maybe a saving throw against the healing spell???

IMO ofc!

Mass Heal is SR:Yes and not on the list of exceptions so yes, demiliches are immune to it.
