Epic weapon & armor enhancement bonus question

I seem to recall seeing somewhere that the maximum enhancement bonus that can be applied to epic weapons and armor is limited only the creators ECL / 3 or something like that. Am I remembering that correctly or is there no limitation out side the normal creation factors (Gold, XP, Time)?

The part about the creator’s caster level having to be at least three times the enhancement bonus applies to all magical weapons and armor, not just epic.
