Name: Nivram
Symbol: A metal, wood, or plastic (whatever that is) 'column' of some sort.
Home Plane: The Plane of Complete Neutrality
Alignment: True Neutral
Portfolio: Chronic Depression, Apathy
Worshippers: Anyone who is chronically depressed
Cleric Alignments: Eh..whatever, it doesn't really matter
Domains: Death, Destruction, Darkness, Depression*, Sarcasm*
Favored Weapon: Sarcasm

Depression Domain
Granted Power: You get +4 against mind effecting affects

1, Doom
2, Black Karma Curse
3, Crushing Despair
4, Blight
5, Crushing Despair, Mass
6, Harm
7, Mind Blank
8, Sympathy
9, Antipathy

Sarcasm Domain
Granted Power: You may use a full round action to make a sarcastic remark with a bluff check.
The target must make a will save or be stunned for 1d4 rounds.
You may do this as much as you like, but the target gets a stacking +2 on subsequent attempts within an hour
Bluff is also now a class skill.

1, Cause Fear
2, Sound Burst
3, Prayer
4, Discern Lies
5, Fear
6, Eagle's Splender, Greater (Eh, a +8 instead of +4?)
7, Blasphemy
8, Power Word Stun
9, Power Word Kill

I'm not extremely happy with the domains, but the whole thing is a joke anyway.

It's too bad Black Karma Curse is already a cleric spell, because that would be perfect for the Depression domain. Maybe you could make that the Depression domain power -- casting Black Karma Curse spontaneously.

I mean, it does fit -- after all, there was that computer that Marvin talked into committing suicide.

Other ones are already cleric spells, so I could include it. What level is it, and what book is it found in?

I think God of Emos would work better than Chronic Depression because that seems to be the flavor. I like it quite a bit; funny, but workable.

Heh, looking at the domains I listed, it does sound emo-ish. But there was a specific reason I chose Chronic Depression.

Depression AND apathy? And to think I thought those were mutually exclusive.
Nivram's followers would tear eachother apart emotionally.

The only thing worse would be a materialist god.
"Don't believe in me, I don't exist!"

Yep, though his followers also have mood swings between depression and apathy.

Black Karma Curse is in the Player's Handbook II. Not much to tell -- it's a 2nd-level spell. You fail a Will save and smack yourself in the face with your best weapon.

That does fit in better with the depression domain.

Douglas Adams would be proud of the reference.

Douglas Adams would be proud of the reference.

I was wondering when someone would mention it. :smalltongue:

Oh, I didn't see that you edited it.

Mea culpa.

When I first saw the title my mind jumped to Nirvana (the band, not the state of mind) and saw the god as a blonde guy who plays a sky blue guitar left handed.

Upon further investigation I realised that it was indeed marvin of course.

The Steel Pillar was the one that was Marvin's leg. I got the impression it was shaped like a peg-leg, so I say the holy symbol should be "a steel spike, point downwards". That or a diode.

I thought it was just called the Metal Pillar, but it's been years since I've read it.

I do like the idea of a Diode. Then it would be a Holy Symbol you can make with ASCII: ->|-

The Wikkit Gate consists of:

The Steel Pillar of Strength and Power
The Wooden Pillar of Nature and Spirituality
The Perspex Pillar of Science and Reason
The Golden Bail of Prosperity
The Silver Bail of Peace

For the sarcasm domain you might also want to add Bluff as a class skill.

Good point, that would be useful.

The sarcasm domain is awesome.

"Don't believe in me, I don't exist!"

I don't think you want to know about the god of athiesm...

Favored Weapon: Sarcasm

Nice, I like the sarcasm domain, but prayer doesn't seem fitting.

Sarcastic prayers, perhaps?

Actually, I agree. I'm not extremely happy with my spell choices. Could you suggest a better one?

And that wasn't sarcasm... or was it?

Heheh, my favoured weapon is definitely sarcasm.

This is amusing, and of course Douglas-Adamsness is next to godliness...

On a completely different note: If you wanted this diety as part of your game you'd have to define how a character uses sarcasm as a weapon (without the sarcasm domain). Perhaps a class that specialises in verbal attacks... (that's an idea I might pursue...)

You could see the Dashing Swordsman PrC as a reference.

Yes, but that's converting lingual prowess to physical damage.
I'd explain more, but I'll save it for the thead. It'll go up not so gome talk to me there if you want.

Perhaps sarcasm works by converting sarcastic quips to sneak attack-style damage?

I think I'll make a class like that... The Sharptongue. That'd be cool.

Well just for reference, I actually believe that there is a god off non-believers. At least in WHFB. :)
Maybe the Avatar of the god could be Marvin.( "What?! Not that old !! Because of your multiple trecks trough time I'm now 6 times as old as the universe" :) )
He really was both sarcastic and in chronic depression
