Does the Powerful Build racial trait treat the character as one size category larger for the purpose of prestige class prerequisites?

Powerful Build affects the following:

- Opposed checks
- Special attacks that are size-related (e.g. swallow whole)
- Weapon size penalties

That's it; anything that actually requires you to be larger than you are won't work.

There is that run of feats in Races of Stone I believe? They have prereqs of being either large of having powerful build. Basically made for Goliaths

You don't count as large for qualifying for them though. Powerful build is expressly called out as being a prereq option.

Actually, the exception in those feats is only for Goliaths with Powerful Build. Half-Giants (or any others) with Powerful Build aren't included.

It's an odd case of RAW vs the English language. It says "goliaths qualify by virtue of their powerful build racial trait."

I would assume Jotunbrud is similarly not good enough for qualifying. It's more vague than Powerful Build, but probably not vague enough, right?
