If an area you're attempting to consecrate has an altar of a deity other than yours, you instead cruse the area and cut off the opposing deity's powers.

If you're a Sanctified One of Elhonna using Light of Life, you can create a consecrated area centred on you, and you count as an altar for the purposes of the effect.

Does having two conflicting altars amount to them cancelling each other out, and therefore it's like a normal consecrate spell without an altar?

I think the "instead" means that the curse takes precedence.
