So if a player has 25 levels to spend, and you want to spend a good chunk on that being something other then human * no polymorph, just go aaway YYOOUUUU *

What monsters with high HD or La would still be worth it, when you are talking about Epic stuff, yet still a player character.

If you ask me, with 25 HD, I'd go wizard/sorc/Ultimate magus/epic ultimate magus and get 18th level sorc casting and 17th level wiz casting, because why not

*snickers* did you read the question , was not a 25 class level question, was a 25 HD question, monsters, and what your suggesting, sounds very...humanish :P

How about a Rakshasa? 7 HD plus 7 LA gets you 14 levels with casting as a 7th level Sorcerer. Take 11 levels of sorcerer on top of that, and you get 18 CL, just enough for 9th level spells. You end up with good ability scores, the same BAB as a pure Sorcerer, decent saves, pretty good damage reduction and SR, among other things. You might even have more HP with the +6 CON figured in, I'm not sure.

Now, granted, Sorcerer 25 might be more powerful, but that's just boring. Although, if you mix in some full casting PrCs like Abjurant Champion, you might have a decent gish.

This, with templates added on if necessary.

Phaerimm. It's all components free, too.

I know I had this figured out in some point, but I forget all of it. It's like a Feral Half-Minotaur Mineral Warrior Goliath or something like that. It was for a dungeoncrasher fighter build. Still gets up to lvl 21, but it's racial abilities makes the entire build fantastic.

At this level, spellcasting is pretty much a necessity. Trumpet Archons probably do the best, starting with cleric 14 at ecl 20 with a lot of nice noncasting abilities. Couatls get sorcerer 9 at ecl 16, with fewer features, but cast from both sor/wiz and cleric lists. Lammasus and the aforementioned Rakshasas are also good.

A Half Fire Elemental Half Earth Elemental Troll Dungeuoncrasher Fighter/Lion Totem Barbarian. I just thought this one up but it sounds awesome.

Black Ethergaunt + templates. Nymph + racial HD. The aforementioned archon and Phaerimm. Basically just pick a race that gets spellcasting as per racial HD, then advance them as necessary to hit 25 HD.
