Posted this a month back but it's not off the main page and I fear Thread Necromancy so posting another thread now that it's actually in Alpha. A lot of changes, a lot of information. It's a game I think the Playground could really get behind. Delver's Drop is a top down dungeon crawl pulling a lot of influences from Zelda and Secret of Mana along with Dungeons and Dragons and The Binding of Isaac. The game has some Rogue Like Elements like randomly generated floors and tough as nails combat. Things not in the Alpha thus far but planned are randomly generated weapons akin to Diablo or Torchlight 2, Undelvers (undead versions of your previous characters), Boss Fights and eight more zones with three to four floors.

What platform(s) is it for?

It's going to be for Windows, Mac and Linux with potential ports to consoles depending on how they do on release. They've also got a Greenlight Campaign on Steam and are at 11th. It's controller (any controller similar in program to the X-Box 360) ready even in it's Pre-Alpha/Alpha stage with potentially more compatibility to come.

Some more gameplay with the Rogue primarily focused to show off her movements/differences. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxqcPjvdxJo&feature=c4-overview&list=UUJQCKs8DBOC92yJFoqW_6rg) Some pretty hefty changes from the PAX East build I posted a month or so back. Much tighter controls, much less sliding and a much wider attack range and a much swifter attack animation which makes her a swifter character than the slow, slidey and bouncy Sorcerer. The balance thus far, even in Alpha, is pretty good from what I've tested. The Linux Build is almost ready to be posted so they've fufilled that Kickstarter goal and the Pixcelscopic Team will be at PAX WEST this year to show off the game.

Some more information on the game. It takes place in the Cronus Spire, surrounded by a swamp of caustic Murk which is the lifeblood of celestial beings whose corpses make up the world. The Delver's are in fact criminals and scoundrels, ex members of a massive guild network that the Gilt King threw in prison for unknown reasons. You play a Delver given the chance to leave the Cronus Spire in what is known as the Drop. Scoundrels are picked at random (which ever you decide in the Jail) to take the plunge. An ecosystem of traders, lunatics and monsters have taken up residence in the Spire, both harmful and helpful to the Delver.
