I don't post much. In fact i think this may be like my 4th or 5th post ever but I have been lurking and an avid reader of both the strip and the forums from the very beginning. Today it occured to me that the number of strips out this year has shown an increase over the last few years. So I did a count.
Number of strips per year since 2003:

2003 1 - 25 = 25
2004 26 - 139 = 114
2005 140 - 259 = 120
2006 260 - 395 = 136 (most prolific year)
2007 396 - 517 = 122
2008 518 - 618 = 101
2009 619 - 704 = 86
2010 705 - 766 = 62
2011 767 - 823 = 56
2012 823 - 864 = 42(the year of the thumb else I am sure it would have been higher)
2013 865 - 910 = 46+

So far this year we are averaging 1.36 new strips per week. That is even considering that there was a considerable period at the beginning of the year where we were still waiting on Sir Thumb to be fully ready to work. It was helped by the 9 strips in 9 days streak which I think everyone has already said was awesome.Anyhoo at the current rate we would see 26 more new strips this year for a total 2013 count of 71 strips the most since 2009. If we take into account the current rate for that couple months of 2 a week we'd see 38 more this year. which would produce a total count for 2013 of 83. I think I speak for many when I say Thank you for the current production rate we, your fans, appreciate all the effort you are putting in.

You sure have to count the periods after book ending scenes, where the Giant usually takes a well deserved rest. That's what I'm thinking that will happen when Book 5 ends in a few strips time. Also, the current production rate seems to be exactly that, that Rich is trying to end this book for now and start working on other demands, like the Kickstarter rewards. But this is all just speculation.

Also, minor nitpick: you got the correct total only for the first year. From 2004 on, it's one more, since you have 114 comics bewteen 26 and 139, inclusive. So:

2003 1 - 25 = 25
2004 26 - 139 = 114
2005 140 - 259 = 120
2006 260 - 395 = 136
2007 396 - 517 = 122
2008 518 - 618 = 101
2009 619 - 704 = 86
2010 705 - 766 = 62
2011 767 - 823 = 54
2012 823 - 864 = 42
2013 865 - 910 = 46+

While I certainly appreciate the support, we ask that posters not discuss the update frequency of the comic strip, even positively.
