I've noticed there are PrC that have abilities that do X "per level," and then there are others that do X "per class level."
It seems clear enough at first, but, given how wording has changed between books, I want second opinions: when something is worded as "per level," does it mean per character level?

It has to actually say "character level" to be character level. Otherwise it is class level by default.

Thanks, mate. I had a feeling it was class level. Just wanted to be sure. :)

References to just "level" depend on the context. If it's in a description of a class ability, it means class level in that class. If it's in (for instance) a feat, it means character level. If it says "level or Hit Dice", it's likewise character level. If it's in a spell, it probably means caster level.
