What are some good and funny tricks with a bag of holding or portable hole or rope trick? Like the arrow of mass destruction.

Have someone from the audience place a portable hole in a bag of holding, and voilą! You opened a gate to the Astral plane and people/stuff got sucked in as well. Pretty entertaining trick if you ask me, although somewhat expensive and a tad dangerous :smalltongue:

Invert a bag of holding. The extra dimensional space is temporarily suspended and the lining of the bag is exposed. Sew a pocket in it to hide something important, and then reinvert the bag to bring it back to normal. You now have an undetectable and technically non-magical hidden pocket!

Along similar lines, cast Dispel Magic on a Bag of Holding to temporarily suppress its magic, then put an object in its normal, real-space interior. It's now inaccessible until you dispel it again.

A system of Ring Gates connecting multiple unbreachable vaults.

Connected to that is a system of Planar Ring Gates connecting those vaults to a multitude of Bags of Holding, Handy Haversacks, and Enveloping Pits.

Even more Planar Ring Gates connecting the above system to multiple Planes with multiple systems of normal Ring Gates etc etc.

Use little Constructs or Undead to navigate this massive system for you and fetch things to whichever Handy haversack you're currently carrying a the time.

If there's something horrible that you need to get rid of and is virtually impossible to destroy -- such as the elder evil Zargon's horn or a greater artifact -- shove it in a bag of holding and punch a hole in it. Now it's gone forever.

If there's an enemy with unbypassable regeneration or is otherwise unkillable through damage (and isn't undead or a construct, and can't Plane Shift), shove it a portable hole and seal it up. Eventually, the foe will suffocate and die. Even better if it's not aquatic and the hole is filled with water. This is how my monk planned to kill the elder evil, the Worm that Walks.

Stuck somewhere outside of space and time? In a hostile plane and can't survive for long? Cut off from the multiverse at large and you're not a spellcaster capable of planar travel? Stuff one inside the other to tear open a rent to the astral plane, and find a color pool back to the plane of your choice.

Rocks. Lots of Rocks. Lots of 100 lbs Rocks. Dump on target.

If you want, replace rocks with flasks of oil & alchemist Fire for an inferno.

Or just hide your great crossbow (and undead sniper) in your portable hole, then fly it form a banner so sniper has targets.

I remember some years ago finding a dumb way to weaponize a bag of holding. Fill the bag up to near capacity with rocks or dirt and then throw someone into it. The bag goes over it's capacity and ruptures, instantly destroying whoever fell in.
