A player wants to play as a Kobold rogue. He is a fervent follower of the Dragonwrought Kobold Sorcerer already in the party (The Dragonwrought is being cheese-restrained).

Since he holds both dragons and the sorcerer in high regards, he wishes to become a dragon, too. The Dragon Tail feat and Dragon Devotee sounded right for the concept, with both making him look closer to a dragon while enhancing his rogue abilities + claws. Maybe Dragon Disciple later, but that one doesn't boost sneak attacks (maybe a 2 level dip for some HP and bite attacks)

One thing we have discussed is the possibility of wielding one weapon and using the other hand for claw attacks. Using only claws is boring, since weapons are fun to upgrade. However using 2 weapons is expensive and requires the TWF line. Are there some good character options for fencing?

There is the Einhander feat that provides some tactical options for using a weapon in one hand with an empty off hand. However, these three options are nothing in comparison to the vast amount of feats and extra attacks that a two weapon fighter can gain. Buying an extra weapon isn't really expensive. Two weapons with less enchants have a better damage output than one moderately enchanted weapon, not to mention all the extra attacks and sneak attack. So, it all pans out to one handed with a free off hand is subpar to a dual weilder.

There aren't really great feats for using a single one-hander. However, there are feats like Rapidstrike (Draconomicon) that are very handy for natural weapons.

Rapidstrike however requires you to be non-humanoid. Kobolds can become dragons, but this is not an option in this case. The BAB requirement is also a bit steep.

I noticed you mentioned gaining a bite attack. Have you seen this (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20060420a)?

I'd go for a rapier for the increased critical range. Keen edge in particular would be a pretty effective enhancement.

The BAB requirement is also a bit steep.Well, Daring Outlaw could help with that. Neither Dragon Devotee nor Dragon Discipline really look worth it, since the former doesn't give you much more dragonity, and the latter is more geared for bruisers.

I am not sure if that combo would eliminate the use of the Einhander feat. Though again Einhander wasn't all that good in the first place.

Look into multiattack if you wanna go this route.

It's not that exceptional, but considering it has next to no requirements, provides sneak attack, and some extra goodies, it doesn't look too bad. The free sorcerer levels are especially nice, for that occasional Ray Sneak Attack, or shield/mage armor.

The only thing rogue has over it is better skills, I think.
