I was trying to make a character based on Ezekiel from the dark angels chapter in the warhammer 40k universe.

He wields a greatsword called the traitor's bane and possesses the book of salvation which holds all the names of the fallen who betrayed his order and have confessed to this and died in penance.

Ezekiel, the Dark Angels' Grand Master of Librarians, has
the power to kill with but a thought. He can read the minds of friend or foe, and even the bravest feel unsettled under his penetrating gaze. For some, this unease stems from Ezekiel's crude bionic eye, yet Space Marines are accustomed to horrific injuries. Rather, it is Ezekiel's mien - a single glance of his good eye reveals the look of one who has stared deeply into the soul of Man and has found something lacking. It is the Grand Master of Librarians' duty to bear the Book of Salvation and to use his powers to probe minds, assisting the Interrogator-Chaplains in their grim role. It is also Ezekiel's task to offer final judgement on those considered for elevation into the Inner Circle. He reaches into the recesses of a candidate's mind, seeking to reveal any taint or weakness. To his credit, every Inner Circle member inducted during his stewardship has remained steadfast. Finally, as the Chapter's Holder of the Keys, it is Ezekiel's burden to carry the keys that unlock all the doors within the Rock, save one.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any battle cleric builds that might suit this character's flavor or at least suggest some PrCs.

Church Inquisitor sounds like good flavor. You can pick up Telepathy with shape soulmeld and open least chakra. Take the knowledge domain (or get it for free by being a cloistered cleric) and persist detect thoughts.

Edit: not sure how well that works since it's concentration... need a way to concentrate as a free action.

You could maybe multiclass psion (telepath) with a paladin variant.

Yes, persistomancy cleric seems the way to go. Church inquisitor seems like the best bet. Be a cloistered cleric and persist divine power and might for +10 strength, full bab, and largeness.

With extended persistant spells you should be able to have 2-3 spells persisted each day, with 4-6 running at a time. I suggest

Divine power
Righteous Might
Holy Sword - paladin spell - better than greater magic weapon.
Holy Aura
Repulsion
Vigor of some flavor

A dip in PRC paladin may not be a bad idea, as paladins have some nice low level spells.
