It was presumed to be with V the whole time. Even when you didnt see it.

Well, then where was this alleged raven when they attacked the bandit camp? Or when V was turned into a lizard? Or when he was attacked by that death knight? Or when he fought Xykon?

Bad examples, given that Blackwing was there on the first two occasions--in fact, the bandit camp was where he got the name in the first place!
