So, I play Dungeons and Dragons (3.5e), but I also play video games. One of these games is DotA 2 and my favorite character is Silencer. For those who have never played the game, Silencer is a warglaive wielding "warrior" who basically specializes in causing people, especially spellcasters, to go silent against their will. Are there any homebrewed classes like this, or how would I go about making one? I'm thinking a fighter-type with spell like abilities to Silence and cause other detriment, especially to spell casters.

I know it is broad, but I'm looking here as my last bastion of hope.

It should be fairly simple to throw together a 5-level prestige class that allows you to silence on a hit with a weapon you are specialised in a couple tomes per day. make the pre-reqs something like a couple ranks of spellcraft, bab 6+ and weapon focus.

Or possibly a feat chain or style feat. It seems specific enough.

Example:
Silencing Glaive (Style)
Pre-requisites: Spellcraft 6 ranks, bab +6, weapon focus (glaive), improved critical (glaive)
Upon a sucessful critical hit with a glaive your victim must succeed on a will saving throw (DC 10 + half level + str mod) or be silenced as per the spell silence for 1d4 rounds.

Edit: For other mage-fighting stuff you might want to look into adapting the mage killer feat and its branches pierce magical protection and pierce magical concealment as well as the occult slayer. They are usually good starting points for martial characters to take on mages, though you will have to improve from these points after a few more levels.

DOTA2 names are hilarious. Anyway, he looks like Sivir but his whole kit is about utility cc and punishing trades.

What's needed:

Class feature that saps spellcasters, stops sapping them when they cast.

Class feature that deals damage based on your intelligence, weapon that damages and drains intelligence.

Class feature that marks an opponent, causing damage and silencing them if they attempt to cast a spell, or it can run out causing damage and for the opponent to drop their held objects.

Class feature that creates a zone of silence in a 1 mile diameter.

Why not just make a tome of battle discipline for swordsage that themes silence and keys from move silently?
