8th Lvl Cleric Help

So, I am in the position of running a "permanent" NPC. Not quite a DM PC, because I strictly keep him in the background. He is a healing focused cleric 8th lvl, soon to be 9th.

Mostly he just sits back and buffs/heals, and has a few spells that he will cast "on demand" (dispell, etc). What are some other tactics i could use without stealing the spotlight? Core spells (mostly)....

I build a character like that, once. He was sort of the party's nanny.

I just had him prepare various "de-nerfing" (heh) spells like calm emotions, restoration/remove curse/break enchantment, he had status running most times, stuff like that. Stuff that a PC might have use for, but not really want to clutter up their spell slots with.

Giving him feats like Imbued Healing or Augment Healing or whatever could help with that.
