Has anyone else noticed in #912 that the rift seems to have two Snarl-like eyes at the base of the rift where Roy, Belkar and Durkon are standing?

900 gives us a much better view, and no eyes. It could have just arrived of course, but it has not shown up at the other rifts in months. Most likely just an art artifact.

I see a couple of small dots of color at the bottom of the rift in #912, but that just looks like coloration.

Neither Roy, Belkar, Durkon, nor the rift are pictured in Strip #913. :smallconfused:

If you're referring to #912, I don't see anything remotely resembling eyes.

Whoops, I was yes. Here's the Snarl http://oots.wikia.com/wiki/Snarl and it's the third panel of 912. The ground also looks like wet sand though that could be just part of the crater. The "eyes" are at the base, clear discolorations of the Rift to a deeper shade of the pink/purple that wasn't there at first.

On one side, the same pattern appears in 911, too.

On the other, it's pretty jagged, while the Snarl's actual eyes are as straight-edged as anyone else's.

Okay, I see what you're talking about, but I still say they don't remotely resemble eyes.

I think it's clearly the effect he was using to create the portal. You can see that it's part of a sphere. It's the bottom part of whatever art effect he uses to create the coloration of the portal.

Fasinating, huh? And perhaps the tide is coming in on the other side of the rift.
