Rolling dice in the edit function.

I have noticed (for lack of a better way of putting it) that you cannot edit in dice rolling into your posts. Why can't you?
Is it to do with the fact that dice rolls are saved in a database after the original post and can thus moved around by typing [roll0] elsewhere?
If so then would it be possible to enable edit rolls as it were, instead of the ability to move the rolls around? Or would that simply cause it to roll again each time the page is loaded? (This last bit isn't a change I would wish to see enacted; just curiosity)

Rolls cannot be edited into a post, they must be rolled in the original. They also will not work if you preview the post before posting. This is a limitation of the method of dice roll insertion.
