Summon Nature's Ally III Question

Hi everyone!

So, I looked at Summon Nature's Ally III. It says that you can summon 1d3 smaller creatures. Elemental, Small is a creature type listed in Summon Nature's Ally II. So, say I rolled a 3. Can I summon 1 fire elemental, 1 air elemental, and 1 water elemental? Or do the elementals I summon have to be of the same sub-type?

I believe all summoned creatures must be of the same kind. So you have to summon all wolves or badgers or what have you.

The spell does say (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/summonNaturesAllyIII.htm) that they have to be of the same kind.

If it used the word type instead of kind then you might have something, but it doesn't.
