conversion (3.5->PF)

im starting a campaign soon and decided to use PF skills because i heard theyre easier to use and i have a couple new players. however, one player wanted to play a whisper gnome, which gets bonuses to hide and move silently (which got wrapped up into stealth). since in this case the racial bonuses are equal, do i just give the same bonus to stealth? what if they werent the same (+8 hide, +6 move silent)? do i give the better one, or put them as an aside such as "+8 stealth when hiding"?

For simplicity I would just use the higher one, but the idea was to do something like "+6, +8 when standing still."
