View Full Version : Timeline?

So, I'm not so good in keeping the time of the events in the comic, and with two prequel books, I'm really lost about how much time of the story has past.

So, maybe this is already a answered question but, someone have a timeline of all the events relevant to the comic? Or the Giant has made an official timeline, with year zero (0) and what stand for? (iirc, Eugene died it's final death in 1180, 3 years before the start of the comic, but 1180 years from what event?).

So, in short, how much time has pass between comic 1 and 914? (approx.)
how much time happens between the different arcs of the story?
Who will win the bet made in 666 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0666.html)? (again, not good with math, but I think the seven weeks haven't past yet, but honestly I'm not sure)
And finally, any timeline with the events?

Without checking things too closely, the online strips cover somewhere around a year.

Haley had been pining over Elan for "the better part of a year" (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0382.html) about 2 days before the split. They are split for about 10 months. About 2 weeks have passed since their reunion. So it's been like a year and a half.

I'm not sure if this is the newest version or not. Keep in mind it's a VERY OLD thread, don't post in it.

edit- Nope. This is not the one I wanted. This has events around the comic, but the in comic events aren't chronicled.

I think the most reasonable assumption with regard to the year number is that it's the number of years since the world was created.

I believe that's been directly stated by the Giant. While discussing Familicide, I believe. Year zero was the creation of this world.

Which raises an interesting question about beings that live that long. There should be elves and dragons whose parents remember being created.

And of course there will be that guys who is like "I was old when the world was young!'

The (un)official topic of the timeline is great, also I didn't knew the ootswiki.

So the world is pretty young, It's curious with so many long-lived races like the folks over me said. I can imagine an elf over 2000 years old, but being created with 1000 years at year 0. Pretty neat.

If I'm not mistaken the longest arc in the online comic was all the events after the battle of Azure City to the res of Roy, maybe 10 months or so.
Since the arrival of the OOtS at Tarquin realm, how much time has past? No more than a few weeks I presume, but all the Girard's Pyramid thing was less than a day.

That one probably is the one you were thinking about as it got updated later on in the thread with in-comic updates.

At the end of the thread, it was mentioned that it was going to be shifted over to the Wiki: http://oots.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline

It was last updated in March. Perhaps people will continue to update it now that the community has been reminded of it. :smallwink:
