MULTICLASS CHARACTERS
Upon attaining 2nd level, or even by DM rule upon creation, a character may select a 2nd class. When the character attains a new level, they increase the class level of each class they possess by 1. There is a penalty with this however, in that they must gain more experience than normal to acquire a new level.

Example:
{table=head]Level|Class Levels (Path A)|XP (Path A)|Class Level (Path B)|XP (Path B)
1st|Wizard 1|0|Wizard 1|0
2nd|Wizard 2|1,000|Wizard 2/Rogue 1|1,000
3rd|Wizard 3|3,000|Wizard 3/Rogue 2|4,000
4th|Wizard 4|6,000|Wizard 4/Rogue 3|9,000
5th|Wizard 5|10,000|Wizard 5/Rogue 4|16,000
6th|Wizard 6|15,000|Wizard 6/Rogue 5|25,000
7th|Wizard 7|21,000|Wizard 7/Rogue 6|36,000
8th|Wizard 8|28,000|Wizard 8/Rogue 7|49,000
9th|Wizard 9|36,000|Wizard 9/Rogue 8|64,000
10th|Wizard 10|45,000|Wizard 10/Rogue 9|81,000
11th|Wizard 11|55,000|Wizard 11/Rogue 10|95,000
12th|Wizard 12|66,000|Wizard 12/Rogue 11|121,000
13th|Wizard 13|78,000|Wizard 13/Rogue 12|144,000
14th|Wizard 14|91,000|Wizard 14/Rogue 13|169,000
15th|Wizard 15|105,000|Wizard 15/Rogue 14|196,000
16th|Wizard 16|120,000|Wizard 16/Rogue 15|225,000
17th|Wizard 17|136,000|Wizard 17/Rogue 16|256,000
18th|Wizard 18|153,000|Wizard 18/Rogue 17|289,000
19th|Wizard 19|171,000|Wizard 19/Rogue 18|324,000
20th|Wizard 20|190,000|Wizard 20/Rogue 19|361,000 [/table]

Simular to gestalt rules, at each level you would draw from the best of each class. The best die, saves, attack bonus advancement, ect. If permitted to do so, a character could be effectively a gestalt character, but require twice (assuming no other multiclassing) the amount of XP required normally to advance each level. Meaning 2,000xp to reach 2nd level, 6,000 required to reach 3rd, ect.

Favored classes, I'm still debating on how they should function with this.

Favored Class would reduce the XP increase, but not remove it.

What happens with PrCs?

Well, there are a few ways to approach them..

A: Disallow them. It makes this issue very simple.
B: Disallow ones that advance casting and/or are effectively combinations of other classes.
C: Allow them all and let the gods sort them out.

XP wise, honestly I'm still figuring that out. What would you do with them once you've finished them..

On the favored class end, I figured a reduction but by how much.

Simplification that would fix this, I think:

Experience values required for each level are based upon the class level, not the character level. Character level is based upon total xp. Xp gained is divided equally between classes.
