a few ground rules

everyone that is required for the trial will be heard (I will determine if your voice needs to be heard)
I will tolerate no disruptions in the courtroom (you will be asked to leave, if you don't I will call the police and they will cart you off in handcuffs)
I am the Judge, I have the final say, I will listen to all arguments, just be patient.

Would a representative for the Town and Destro please appear before me.

Destro appears in the courtroom, behind the defendants bench. This is a new place for him to be, and he looks around nervously. Legal counsel, yes. Good idea. My plea? Not guilty by reason of insanity.

Destro, who are you going to hire as legal council?

((need some to represent the Town))

((Well, I've decided now))
Ummm. Kyrian. I'm hiring Kyrian.

Kyrian enters the courtroom, and walks up to the front.

Destro, your plea of not guilty by reason of insanity has been entered into the record.

Aerin, would you please call your first witness.

Lord Iames Osari
2006-12-20, 12:30 PM
I call Cosmo to the stand.

Will Cosmo please take the stand

((I'll notify Cosmo))

cosmo

Cosmo enters and hops up into the witness chair. There some sort of reimbursement for this, right? I'm missing work or this you know, and still haven't finished Christmas shopping for about half my kids.

Cosmo, do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help you (insert Diety's name)?

cosmo
2006-12-20, 09:02 PM
By Sharess, sure.

wxdruid
2006-12-20, 09:03 PM
Aerin, you may question the witness

Lord Iames Osari
2006-12-20, 09:59 PM
Cosmo, please tell us what happened at Trogs during the first incident.

cosmo
2006-12-20, 10:14 PM
Cosmo ponders a moment. It was the usual evening at Trog's; I was serving drinks and listening to people blab about the end of the world again when the guy in the bathrobe, *he points to Destro* for whatever reason turned a couple dozen patrons into fish. You'd think a guy that hung up on trout would have made some water for them as well, but nope. Just let 'em flop around on the floor and die. Didn't even clean 'em up. Jerk.

Lord Iames Osari
2006-12-20, 10:42 PM
Thank you, Cosmo. I have no further questions for Cosmo, Your Honor.

2006-12-21, 09:59 AM
Kyrian, do you have any questions for Cosmo?

Kyrian
2006-12-29, 09:55 PM
Were you actually present during the incident?

cosmo
2006-12-30, 06:14 PM
Cosmo gives Kyrian one of Those Looks, followed up by one of Those Smiles. Sorry, apparently you missed the part where I just said I saw the dude in his pajamas turn people into a bunch of fish. Yes, I was present.

Kyrian
2006-12-30, 08:18 PM
When did you appear?

cosmo
2006-12-31, 01:15 PM
I believe technically I never leave the Tavern, but I started paying attention right before Captain Fish pulled his trick.

Kyrian
2006-12-31, 01:17 PM
So you deny that you "popped into existence" after the supposed incident?

cosmo
2006-12-31, 01:24 PM
Cosmo rolls his eyes. It's a metaphor man, for the sudden awakening of my consciousness. Or something like that. I'm not like magical or something if that's what you're getting at.

Kyrian
2006-12-31, 01:25 PM
Well, if it was your sudden awakening, then how can you have seen what my client may or may not have done?

cosmo
2006-12-31, 01:30 PM
Because...well, because I was there. Cosmo shrugs. That'll have to do, that's the best I got.

Kyrian
2006-12-31, 01:31 PM
No further questions, Your Honor.

wxdruid
2006-12-31, 01:47 PM
Cosmo, you may step down

Aerin, Please call your next witness.

cosmo
2006-12-31, 01:49 PM
Cosmo hops off the witness chair. Finally, I can go back to work.....oh, joy. He leaves the courtroom and heads up to Trog's.

Lord Iames Osari
2006-12-31, 02:00 PM
Aerin frowns, frustrated. I have no more witnesses pertaining to this incident, Your Honor.

wxdruid
2007-01-05, 08:48 AM
Kyrian, do you have any witnesses to call?

Kyrian
2007-01-07, 06:11 PM
No Your Honor.

wxdruid
2007-01-07, 06:23 PM
Aerin, do you have any closing comments?

The crimson robed form of Aloysius appears out of the shadows in the back of the room, "WAIT!" he screams, "I have something to say... Actually, no I dont... Just thought I would drop in and... voice my opinion." He holds up his hand, a small orb of nothingness appears in his hand and flies to the other side of the room, destroying all in its path. ((objects that is...people can avoid it, as it doesnt move that fast... Sphere of Ultimite Destruction from CA))

Kyrian
2007-01-07, 06:58 PM
Kyrian waves his hand, and the sphere vanishes.

DarkSetzer
2007-01-07, 07:01 PM
Aloysius shakes his head, "Now now now, thats no fun" He blinks and vanishes, reappearing an instant later on the other side of the room, several spheres now fly about the room.

(Maximized Time stop... so...thats four spheres of ultimate destruction flying about...)

Kyrian
2007-01-07, 07:02 PM
Kyrian dismisses them all.

DarkSetzer
2007-01-07, 07:05 PM
(All i have to say is... How? ...)

Aloysius sighs and vanishes again, reapearing behind Kyrian, "You need to learn to have some fun." As he finishes his scentence several fireballs go off throught the room.

(Once again a nice Maximized Timestop, this time followed by some Delayed Blast Fireballs)

Kyrian
2007-01-07, 07:06 PM
Kyrian dismisses all of it.

((Let me explain it simply.

1. Kyrian is a god
2. This is outside of Town continuity))

DarkSetzer
2007-01-07, 07:09 PM
(I see...)

Aloyius chuckles a little, "This place is just as boring as the rest of the town... Here I thought I could have some fun and cause some disturbance, but you ruin it all... Oh well, time to move on" He steps back and melds into one of the shadows on the wall, vanishing.

Kyrian
2007-01-07, 07:12 PM
Kyrian makes note to press charges, and passes the note over to Iames. (He'll pass it to Aerin should Iames not be present.)

Lord Iames Osari
2007-01-07, 11:22 PM
No, Your Honor. Aerin accepts the note.

wxdruid
2007-01-09, 02:59 PM
Kyrian, do you have any closing comments?

Kyrian
2007-01-09, 03:04 PM
No Your Honor.

With the one witness that has been called, I have not heard sufficient evidence to prove beyond a doubt that Destro turned them into Trout. (and no further witnesses have been called) Therefore I must rule not guilty. The second charge relates to the first and I must find that while Destro did escape from jail, he was jailed under suspicion of murder. I cannot let that escape go unpunished (or we'll have everyone escaping). I sentence Destro to 6 hrs of jail time. (He has 12 hours to report after he signs back online)

Destro_Yersul
2007-01-10, 01:22 AM
((Ok, I'm here))
Destro looks around nervously. Umm, does the time that I already stayed there count? Because it was more than 6 hours. At least I think it was...

wxdruid
2007-01-10, 08:48 AM
Yes, I think 4 of those hours will count towards this. That'll leave you two hours to complete.

Kyrian
2007-01-10, 10:00 AM
Gwen, I think if you'll reread the thread, on page 14 post 393 (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29085&page=14) my client was thrown in 12/15/06 at 7:34 pm.

Later, on page 17 post 496 (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29085&page=17) my client escaped on 12/17/06 at 1:24 am.

Therefore, my client has already served over 24 hours of time in jail, for a crime just proven to have no real witnesses.

wxdruid
2007-01-10, 09:03 PM
Kyrian, I will accept your reasoning, Destro has completed any jail time he might have owed. Any more questions?

Destro_Yersul
2007-01-10, 11:00 PM
Erm, no. No, that about covers it. Desro glances around furtively and scurries out of the courtroom.
