So some friends of mine invited me to play PTA (Pokemon Tabletop Adventures), a tabletop RPG based on the Pokemon universe - obviously. I personally know nothing of what the campaign is about, or what the overarching goal will be.

I am currently reading through the Players Handbook beta-v1.34, so as i read through this, does anyone with experience in this system have any advice?

Personally I think i'll probably become a Capture Specialist for the utility role I can have for the team, as for Advanced Classes, or multiclassing, I have no idea what would synergize well.

This looks surprisingly fun.

Update:
So I've solidified my choice to go Capture Specialist. For advanced classes, i'm going to rush into Pokeball Designer once i meet the prerequisites, as well as dip early into Collector for the boost in leveling speed while i flesh out and pick more features i find useful out of the Capture Specialist and Pokeball Designer lists.

My party is looking like a Coordinator who is going to class into Cute Idol who will act as a support/face, an Ace Trainer (unsure about advanced classing atm) who is going to go through the League Challenge, and another Capture Specialist who is going to go into Trapper.

this essentially gives us all areas we excel in. The coordinator and ace trainer will have a lot of things to do in cities via contests and gym battles, while the capture specialists will thrive in the wilds, catching pokemon.

personally i'm not to sure how well the second capture specialist fitting into the party party dynamic, but apparently the player is a person who is really into the roleplaying aspect of tabletop games, so i'm not going to rain on his parade.

also, for those interested in this system: pdfs can be found here (http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Pokemon_Tabletop_Adventures) and a wiki for the system is here (http://pokemontabletop.wikidot.com/)
