Is there a decent gun user class/PRC in 3.5? Or short of that a good build using another class?

Guns are an optional era rule in 3.5. Due to this, I do not believe there are any classes specifically made for them. However, Warblades are good for crossbows at high levels, and may be good for guns as well.

Where can I find the rules and equipment listed for the, any place in particular?

Pages 144-146 of the Dungeon Master Guide has the chart for them.

Huh it's amazing what you skip over and never read for years when you're not planning on using it lol.

Yeah. I've always wanted to use these, but they never were appropriate.

Their stats aren't the best either - you'd be better off going with d20 Past (it's a d20 modern supplement I believe).

You'd probably be best off adapting the Gunslinger and associated rules from Pathfinder. They've got more support than a few paragraphs in the DMG.

Could you name a reason why? These Exotic Weapons (alone that has support) are more easily handled than the PF versions.

This is what I was thinking as well. I've never used Pathfinder but the Gunslinger seems like it's well supported enough at least as far as an actual class.
