From the darkness comes a neon pink worm, its googly eyes shifting menacingly as it crawls its way out of the bed as its tail wags rhythmically behind it. Through their plastic exterior, you can feel the hatred emanating through those damned eyes.

Squirmles, sometimes called "magic pets," are a type of construct used to guard the homes of wizards and to trick small children. Squirmles have a very cruel outlook on life, especially when it comes to children. They seem to get some perverse joy out of shattering the hopes and dreams of tykes everywhere. Squirmles like to put on shows for toddlers and other children under the age of seven (and that equivalent age, in the case of children of non-humanoid races), where they dance and hypnotize them with a combination of both their supernatural abilities and their seemingly carefree (and not at all evil) behavior. Once they convince the children to beg their parents for them, they become inert while the children watch them. It is said that, at night, squirmles like to torment the parents of the children, writhing around their beds.

Squirmles are usually a foot long, and come in a variety of delightfully bright colors. Squirmles do not speak, but understand Common.

Googly Eyes (Su): Each squirmle has a pair of googly eyes OF DOOM that allow them to hypnotize people, as the spell. By spending a standard action, the squirmle can cause the pupils in its plastic eyes to move around rapidly and randomly within, which forces its target to make a Will save (DC 11) or be affected. If used while in combat, the victim gains a +2 circumstance bonus to the saving throw. If not in combat, this bonus instead becomes a penalty. The save DC is Wisdom-based.

Horrific Dancing (Su): By spending a move action each round, the squirmle can dance about, twisting and squirming in an array of bizarre patterns. While performing this action, the squirmle gains a +2 Dodge bonus to its armor class. In addition, during a round in which it has used this ability, any character who hits the squirmle must make a Will save (DC 11), or be affected as if the target of a Hideous Laughter spell (Caster Level 3rd). The save DC is Wisdom-based.
