With great excitement you pass through the velvet door eager to find out what is on the other side. You are a little disappointed to find only nothing. Literally nothing. Darkness surrounds you, only the velvet door casting a faint light on the eternal darkness.
You remember what professor Setros said, your mission is to investigate the area near the velvet door, and report anything suspicions. He specifically said not to go far form the door.

"This place is... empty?"

Soga was unsure if he was thinking out loud, talking to his teammates or hoping someone could hear him through the communicator. They never did tell us how use them after all...

"Don't suppose anyone here has a light?"

Liu looks around, this was not quite what he expected "hmmm" thinking to himself, Liu looks down to his card, perhaps they had to be used in someway? surely they wouldn't just send them into the darkness with no method of seeing.

He lowered the card again and took a few short steps forward, careful not to leave the rest of the groups sight "I guess we just move forward, lets just stick to a straight line so we know we can always turn right back and head for the door" if they were to walk in the darkness that seemed to be the only option that wouldn't get them lost, unless of course something else changed about the place, he didn't like the idea of walking around in a dark place where some sort of monster was hiding.

Hikaen takes out his mobile phone from his pocket and tries to light whatever he can with the small light from the phone's screen. However it doesn't seem to help all that much.

Are they serious? The said that there are things we must fight in here. How can we fight without vision? ****, I wasn't expecting this. It wouldn't be weird to die in here like this. Come on Hikaen think of something!

After that Hikaen tries to analyse what the professor said.

Ok, let's calm down. First we will need to find those operatives, or at least one of them. Going on like this while those "shadow" things are prowling about is suicide.

"Guys before we do anything I think we should find one of those operatives the professor mentioned. I think they are the best hope we have. Also Inoue-sensei, if you know something we should know now is the best time to share it."

This situation was just too risky. The information was very limited and the danger was too great.

If we don't get much information I think it would be wise to get the hell out of here, but it is kind of exciting. Oh god, why does my emotion have to take over me in a situation like this where my life is at stake?

Davis take a few steps forward, and looks around slowly, his expression completely neutral, if almost... too neutral. He looks left, then right, then down, and finally up. "It's... Dark." He utters. He then turns around to face the rest of his group. "There's nothing here, someone remind me why the hell we came here in the first place?" he Then called out lodly.

As your eyes start to get used to the darkness something catches your eye. You think you see some movement in the distance, but you are not sure.

Liu looks around and his eyes thankfully reveal that they aren't in some void just an extremely dark room of some form. Spotting movement up ahead he takes on a defensive stance "Hello?" not sure what else to do he decides to let the thing come to them, figuring that would be the safer option, if it was one of these operatives then they surely would reveal themselves and there would be no danger, if it was one of the creatures that apparently inhabited the place then it would be better to stick together and fight it as a group.

"keep an eye out theirs something up ahead" he warned the others if they had not already seen it themselves "I'm suddenly aware that we were sent in here unarmed" how were they suppose to fight if they couldn't reliably summon there personas or fight it themselves? Liu once more looked to his card, just how was he suppose to use this?

Davis nervously takes some steps back, trying to keep the shadowy forms in his sight. His attention is then drawn to the velvet card, more specifically the light it emitted. "Great, they decked us out with stripped down walky-talkies and a card-shaped flashlights..." He sighs, before looking over hs shoulder. "I wonder if that door works both ways?"

Hikaen removes his jacket and holds it in his hands while making a battle stance and slowly moves backwards while always facing the approaching figure. After that Hikaen notices that one of the two students he didn't know glanced at the velvet door after saying something. It was easy to notice since the cards started to glow like that, revealing everyone's expresions.

"Can we get out!?"

He asks with a loud voice while maintaining his stance. He realised that the student was probably wondering the same thing so by saying that he tried to urge him to try and get out. At the same time he was hoping to get the answer to this question by the teahcer. He was thinking that if they managed to get out the would be safe, or at least they would be able to fight better with some light.

Liu decides to take a few steps back but keeping everyone else behind him, while he did have some Martial arts training he was in no way a master, it was mostly a meditation and betterment of self sort of thing, he was not confident he would be able to fight whatever this thing was alone "the cards must do something there is no way we would be sent in here like this with no way to defend ourselves" He kept one hand out to defend himself if the thing decided to lunge and held the other card up in front of him in hopes of activating it or at least illuminating their adversary.

"Byakko...." that was the spirits name, it had told him to fight for equality.

In game terms Liu would move to the front of the group if he wasn't already and attempt to summon his persona.

As the figures get closer something begins to glow in your hand. The light materializes creating weapon in your hand. You hear a voice in your head. "Call for me".

Four figures approach you. They appear human but you notice that something is wrong. The darkness emanating from this figures is unnatural and their faces are covered by masks.

You must summon your persona in the first turn.

Two knights in the front, priestess and magician in the back. You have initiative. You can act right away, or you can wait for the shadows to attack.

believe it or not, notifications broke and i had noticed nothing since my last post...

This was it. This situation, which admittedly had gone out of hand a bit, was what Soga always wished for. He had a chance to do something amazing, and cover some behinds while at it.

Taking a step forward, Soga grasps the card as if some sort of weapon. To that, he feels it changing, only to realize he is holding something different.

The card had transformed into the shape of a sword. "Shape" being the operating word, because the item itself seemed and felt more like a piece of black cloth, folded in the sword's shape. It was solid, however, slightly curved, sharp on the outside and the tip of the inner side. The back handguard seemed like a second grip, too.

With it came an urge, which he gave in to. As he did, he saw the darkness stir in front of him, forming a great cloak from the same fabric as the blade.

It was the same Cloak that got him into this mess.

"Get ready!", he shouts, both as a threat to the creatures and to rally the other four.

Soga will attack once everyone is done being awesome.

As Soga steps up and forms his own weapon Liu's begins to form as well as if answering the call of the spirits name, no the persona, his persona, it formed a long black metallic pole, as tall as Liu with a golden pommel on the bottom and a thick curved sword like attachment on the top with what appeared to be a Tigers claw grasping the blade.

Liu felt a surge of strength, he knew they could fight these things, this was how they would stand a chance, how they would fight against these dark creatures.

Deciding to let the Shadows come to them he waited, hoping Soga would do the same, better to play it safe and keep the door as close as possible incase they got hurt or things went poorly.

Liu did not seem to notice but there was now a large white and black striped tiger standing behind him, standing in an aggressive stance ready to fight with them, it had a mane of sorts going partway down its back and the back parts of its legs that spiked up giving it a slightly disheveled yet still somehow regal appearance.

The fear sweeping over him was overwhelming, not only had he completely frozen in place, but he didn't even realize his breathing had began becoming both faster and deeper. His hands began tingling, and a feeling of light-headedness began taking over.

Even with the tingling sensation in his hands, he could feel something, it was rigid, but also very light. Casting his gaze on the object, it took a moment for his brain to process the sight of a folded up butterfly knife. Without even realizing it, Davis flicked the weapon, bringing the blade out with smoothness and expertise he didn't remember possesing.

In fact, he could remember very little at the moment, the only thing his memory afforded him with perfect clarity, was a single word he had uttered once before. His breathing began slowing, becoming calmer, before all but stopping, and as has lung began aching for air, he uttered that word once again.

"Per..."

A sense of utter dread, followed by a rush of adrenaline.

"So..."

A new power began welling up, it felt like his chest was gonna burst open.

"Na..!

And release. Davis felt like his feet were gonna give way, leaving him to crumble onto the floor, but he did not, something caught him by the shoulder. Looking over his shoulder, he regonized the creature, even though he subconciously wished he didn't.

The beast was humanoid enough at first glance, the whatever semblence there was ended there. Spindly, digitigrade legs supported the creatures massive upper body, a torso with wide, impossibly muscular shoulders, ridiculously long arms hanging down, terminating in wicked claws. Its skin was a deathly greyish-white, with patches of thin fur spread about it's body. and amidst the shoulders almost a wide as Davis was tall, lay the beasts head, which was something like the crossing between a human, a wolf, and a bat, with a round forehead, a mouth terminating in a short muzzle bristling with sharp teeth, and a swab of thin red hair that was all too human-like growing from the top of its head.

The freshly summoned persona let loose a beastly roar, before hunching forward, dropping down into a knuckle-dragging posture. It stared at the shadows, snarling.

Waiting for now.

Hikaen's card forms into a massive scythe. It was from the flor up to his mouth. The blade was especialy big, as big as his torso, maybe a bit bigger. Even so the scythe felt very light and one could easily swing it at incredible speed. After that Hikaen ties his jacket to his waist and pats his shoulder with his scythe, for some reason he felt confortable this way.

He swings his scythe down to test it. The weapon comes down at an amazing speed making a sonicboom sound at the end. Afterwards a familiar beast appears behind him. After making a piercing howl it takes place behind Hikaen.

"I am Fenrir. Thou art worthy and shall have my power."

While the beast didn't seem to move it's mouth or any muscle at all, Hikaen clearly heard those words. He then grins and takes place with the others waiting for the shadows to make a move.

Assuming the magician can hit anyone front or back i will move between the enemies and Kogoro if that does any good, then attack whichever knight is closest.

Davis Grunted at the heat radiating from the magical fire. He then began drawing upon this new power within him, and a tingling sensation spread down his hand. He then lifted his hand up in front of him, clenching it into a fist, the beast behind him following its masters motion, a yellowish energy crackling within its monstorous fist.

"Let's do this, Strigoi!" Davis shouted, invoking the name of his Persona, as he brought his fist down to the ground.

As the vampire beast fololowed suit, slamming the ground with enough force to bend a motorcycle two-fold, a crack began travelling along the ground, toward the shadow bearing the Priestess mask, the ground detonating as it reached the shadow.

Soga had taken quite a hit. Better finish this fast... Davis seemed to have devoted the most in his attack, so it's probably best to follow suit.

Soga was taken aback by seeing the Priestess' new wounds heal almost as fast as they were inflicted. Perhaps it was an unwise choice of mark.

Turning to the knight that attacked Hikaen, he attempts to strike him. Though he doesn't have much left in him to devote to the attack, he taps into the power that seemed to be welling up from the blade-card.

Hikaen had acted on impulse thus far so he tried to analyse the situation. While he was trying to think he felt a power from his card. It felt like this power would increase his capabilities temporarily. At the same time the card gave off a glow that seemed to be calling Hikaen to use this power. Responding to the call Hikaen reached for this power while thinking hard about his next move.

Hikaen used his card on himself and focused while also preparing himself for a counter.

Davis wasn't wuite pleased with what his attack had caused, so instead focused for a moment, and his free hand began tracing a something in the air. Strigoi mimicked the movements, a small ball of purple light at the tips of its fingers.

As the hand of master and servant weaved through the air, a purple glyph began appearing underneath the Priestess he had failed at vanquishing. "Now, let's finish this." He uttered before cleching the hand he had used in tracing the symbol, the vampire Persona once again replicating the movement. Soga's blow missed, leaving him wide open for another solid blow. Davis' aid helped him shrug it off to counterattack once more, this time with more force and Celaverimus' blade in tow. He owed Davis one, and Liu too for the healing he offered him.

As the magic reinvigorated him, he took a look around the fight. The first Knight had fallen, and the casters were on a run for their money due to some Sleep magic, it would seem. Something felt off, though, and he thought he saw movement in the darkness.

After defeating the shadow Hikaen spins his scythe and pats it on his shoulder while thinking what the next move should be.

If I attack the priestess together with either the sword guy or that guy that used magic we should be able to take her out, but that would be a waste since she is not going to be doing anything any time soon. As for the other two, taking the magician out will be much faster since the last knight was pretty sturdy.

"Let's get the magician out everyone, focus him down."

If the magic user and the sword weilder help me out on this we might be able to take him down right away.

Saying that Hikaen charges at the magician with fenrir howling behind him. He does a swift motion with his scythe that in turn strikes twice at supersonic speed making a scary exploding sound.

Hikaen uses Double Fang on the Magician. Also I'm pretty sure that if Soga and Davis attack the magician with a skill we will be able to kill him this turn.

Seems like they ignored me, but it was to be expected. In any case the magician is certainly the biggest threat right now, so even if by myself I HAVE to take him down and fast.

Hikaen had noticed some sort of movement in the darkness that worried him and so he figured that not taking out the enemy as soon as possible could place them in an even worse situation. Also he slowly felt the power from the card fading and he realised that he shouldn't take the time to refresh it.

No matter the point of view the conclusion he reached was always the same: they needed to hurry.

Even though his wounds were hurting, Hikaen was worried about the sword weilder that looked like he could hardly take another hit. So he toughens up and keeps attacking the magician, this time with a wide swing from his scythe powered up by fenrir's claws.

The situation was tight. The enemies had started to fall, and if Kogoro kept the pressure up they'd have little to worry about. "They" being the other guys, since he was getting too close to the edge for comfort. He was glad they were gonna make it out of there, but he wasn't quite ready to pay the big bill for it.

Either the knight or the magician could probably wipe him out in a blow, 2 if he was lucky. But another could cover him from the knight's blows, while there was little that anyone could do to keep a determined Magician from him. He had to go.

Soga rushed to attack him, though he had little to put into the attack.

In a marvelous (and completely unnecessary) display of power the group finishes of the last remaining shadow.

Soundtrack (www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpxUFfy89DQ).:smallwink:
Youtube is blocked at work, so I hope I linked the right song.

The moment the shadow dissipates you hear a voice coming from the darkness.
"It was about time. I was starting to think I would have to drag your bodies back through the gate, and that would be very inconvenient, since I'm not wearing the right shoes."
A red haired girl emerges from the mist that surrounds you. With a devious smile she points her card towards you.
"I'm gonna need to borrow some energy, but you should survive."
You start to feel that your energy is drawn to her card and your own card starts to lose it's glow.
"Hades" she screams as a huge shadowy figure appears above her and starts to gather energy. A circle of darkness forms around the figure and it is then that you notice the huge shadows in the distance. With a slight movement of the girl's hand the circle expends and the darkness swallows all the shadows. As the figure disappears she moves her hand to her ear to adjust her communicator.
"Captain, we are finished here. Despite their inexperience and incompetence they have managed to pass. I am not really impressed, but we don't really have other choice. We are returning to the base."
She then turns her attention to you.
"If your shock has passed make your way to the door. Unlike you I have a life and I don't want to waste my time on you. Move it!"

This attitude, it resembles that of a worker that doesn't like his job a bit too much. I don't even want to think that the whole influence bull**** applies here as well.

Hikaen was starting to get pissed but he didn't change his expresion.

"...You're an operative I presume?"

He spoke those words while turning towards the girl.

Having a comunicator like ours isn't a coincidence. The one she spoke to was most likely professor Setros, but that's not sure yet. Another thing that bothers me is that "they will have to do" attitude. They must realy need the manpower and fast... Damn, the more I think about it the more angry I get. Well, worst case scenario I will bear with it until I have enough information and power to desert them.

It was done, the strange woman who appeared afterwards seemed none to impressed, what did she anticipate from a bunch of inexperienced students who possibly just discovered there powers mere hours or days ago? he took deep breaths to try and get a bit of his strength back and looked to the others, they had all been drained in some way by the woman, he didn't know what else there was to do but to leave the place, they weren't in any condition to push any deeper and he had no desire to at the moment anyway "lets head back then, is everyone feeling well enough to?" realizing they still taken quite a beating Liu prepared to helped them if need be.

"...You're an operative I presume?"

The girl's expression changes slightly, and she seems even more annoyed.
"Do not insult me, I am a lieutenant. Jessica, if you must address me.
Any other pointless question, or can we get going?"

Davis couldn't help but feel slightly weak at the knees, mostly from the mental drain. Man, whats her problem? He thought by himself, keeping an annoyed gaze locked on Jessica. he wanted to toss out some witty, something to show he wouldn't let this bitch walk all over him, but on the other hand, Davis realized just how costly of a mistake that could be. Choosing instead to remain silent, he began walking toward the door.

She treats this place like some sort of park, this Jessica. Well, I don't want to stay here a second longer than I have to plus my body hurts quite a lot. So lets get out of here first.

Hikaen starts walking towards the exit along with the others. Are those people some sort of military that fights the shadows? Was the encounter with the shadows the purpose of them entering the vlevet door? There were many questions in Hikaen's mind, but for now he felt tired. Quite tired actualy. He just wanted to lay down and forget all this for just a little while. Even though deep within his heart, beyond the anger that started rising, the spark of excitement was present.

Soga didn't trust this "Jessica" figure. She was too strong to take an eye off, and didn't exactly give him reason to like her. But her power intrigued him, and he began theorizing on its nature. Was it something her persona could do, or was that her card? And just how malleable was a card's power, anyway? Could his gain such a useful skill? Or something more versatile, such as manifesting varied weapons (like Celaverimus seemed to do)?

His mind wandering off, he dismissed his blade, pocketed the card and walked off to the door. "Let's call it a day, then." he muttered.

Liu stands by the door and eyes the strange woman, he had not questions for such a rude person, the teachers would be knowledgeable enough, as Hikaen nears the door Liu's eyes once again will glow and he will heal him a bit more, seeing how weak he must have felt with such injuries, he then offers his arm to help him out.

He glances back to check on the others, Soga also seemed quite hurt but was dealing with it a bit better, satisfied they were safe Liu reaches to open the door.

As you pass through the velvet door again your eyes start to sting a little and you cover them with your hand. It takes a moment to adjust and by the time you remove your hand you see professor Setros trying to hide his smile.
"Congratulations, you have passed your test." He says trying to keep his voice cold and distant.
