The world of Nisstren is a mass of solid arcane power with magical storms raging across the surface endlessly. The world shifts from plane to plane and time is erratic near the planet. Nisstren was created in a lucid dream by a Deep Imaskari in stasis whose name has long been lost to history and is now simply called Dreamer.

Dreamer created a library of knowledge in his dreamscape. The walls are etched with runes and the books are formed from living, outlandish plants holding every spell ever written, stolen from the dreams of others or created in the heart of the dreamscape. Dreamer created constructs and eventually plant creatures for company, finding more traditional forms of life too difficult to will into being. When he found the rituals of association, he began making humanoid creatures, more complex and more knowledgeable, and more powerful.

Several of these creatures became wizards, utilizing the library Dreamer had created in his dreams. They tried to leave, but could never set foot out of the dream. They built gates to the astral plane and tried casting trans dimensional spells to get through, but even with the seemingly boundless magic of the dreamscape, none are known to have escaped, but their spells did.

The spells coalesced into the beginings of Nisstren and many took a life of their own becoming living spells. Over time the loose collection of spells became a swarm and their magics mingled into the world it is today.

Plane shift and gate are the most common living spell swarms found on Nisstren and cause the planet to move through the planes with ease. The gates are so plentiful that a large portion of Dreamer's dreamscape is simply a wall leading to Nisstren. Time is warped across the world from the swarms of time stop and the realm of dreams bleeding onto the planet. This makes travel to and from Nisstren very dangerous as the entire planet may have moved before you take a step. A dimensional anchor swarm, or similar spell, has the additional beniffit of keeping those in its area with the planet despite space time interference, however a single casting has no effect outside of the norm.
I realize that not all of the spells listed are eligible for the living spell template, however there is no limit to what spells can be created, without research, with the lucid dreaming skill. Technically I could have just made a god with just Factotum 1 and Skill Focus, but I opted for this instead. The original Nisstren didn't really have an origin story, but this puts it on more solid ground, and more playable. One primary facet of Nisstren before was that it consumed everything in its path to power itself. In this dreamscape version that could still be somewhat true in that it attacks with a gate swarm to send new things into the Imaskari's dreamscape to fuel his imagination.
