Several moves ago I bought a book from a friend that is something I'd like to look at again. Presumably it has been lost in the shuffle from hither and yon so I need to find a new copy of it. But the problem is that I don't remember what it is called. Hopefully you guys can help me.

The setting was very dystopian and gave a feeling of cyberpunk. You started off with somewhere in the amount of $200,000 to create a character. You could purchase upgrades like more strength or some ability with this money. You were encouraged to be discrete about these upgrades since it wasn't smiled upon by the police. The images in the book were pretty close to Transmetropolitan and there was a bit of almost Reagan-era propaganda posters.

Any idea?

Thanks in advance.

That sounds to me like it might be Cyberpunk 2020.

I don't think that is it. On the cover there was a really large guy who looked over-muscled in much the same way that Strong Guy in the Marvel universe looks. He was on a city street near some concrete building. Posters are around him.

Here is a pic of Strong Guy for comparison.

Are you sure? That sounds an awful lot like this one:

Nope, definitely not Cyberpunk 2013, 2020, or 203X.

The setting was very dystopian and gave a feeling of cyberpunk.

Cyberpunk 2020 etc. are completely cyberpunk (more so than dystopian; they're dystopian to the extent cyberpunk has to be).

You started off with somewhere in the amount of $200,000 to create a character.

Not any of the CP20XX games. You'd start with 24,000eb if you were lucky, and you don't

purchase upgrades like more strength or some ability with this money.

You create your ability scores and skills, then later buy equipment and cyberware. Also, nowhere are you

encouraged to be discrete about these upgrades since it wasn't smiled upon by the police

Also, this is subjective, but:

The images in the book were pretty close to Transmetropolitan and there was a bit of almost Reagan-era propaganda posters.

Not any of the games. CP2013 hardly has art at all, CP2020 doesn't look like Transmetropolitan and doesn't have old-style propaganda posters, and and CP203X has photoshopped photos of Barbies and G.I. Joe dolls.

Also, Yora, that's a supplement for CP2020, not the CP2020 corebook...

Edit:
Might be Cybergeneration, but I don't think so. This (http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QpMdD4P8Enk/Uee3KFpd8_I/AAAAAAAAuPE/wWxMjXp3q28/s320/Cyber+Generation+RPG.JPG) is the cover.

Some possible culprits: GURPS Cyberpunk or GURPS Cyberworld - the details are off, though, and the cover of the first is wrong. This (http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Uz3sixrpOaQ/TrJpRyLiTXI/AAAAAAAAW2w/2BLNnqEiZJw/s320/GURPS+Cyberworld.JPG) is the cover of the second. There's Cyberspace, based on Spacemaster/Rolemaster, but the $200,000 is totally wrong - it's more like $200. This (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c/cc/CyberspaceRPGCover.jpg) is the cover of Cyberspace.

Those are both new ones to me. I dig the art on Underground's cover - I wish there was a way to get my hands on that. Cyberpunk is all about style, after all...
