Humble Giant

When Reshar founded the temple of the Ninefold Lotus, he founded it on the belief that any creature, regardless of race, ideology, and religion, could find their own way and master their own martial art. Enter the Humble Giant, Papa Giru-Girumesh, the Gentle, Half-Ogre.

When Papa Giru-Girumesh appeared at the temple he was in the chains of a man who wished to enroll his son in the temple. When Reshar saw Papa, he approached him and asked him why he did not break his chains and escape. In response he stated that he was "afraid of hurting people". In response to this Reshar offered to teach the man's son free of charge in exchange for Papa's freedom and the man released him. After many years of training Papa and the man's son both excelled in the sublime ways, but it was clear that Papa, in his simplistic gentility, was the more superior of the two. One day, the man's son's room in the temple was vandalized, his food stolen and sword broken. Immediately he accused Papa and demanded Reshar that he pay for his misbehavior. Reshar simply grinned and stated "Justice is performed best by the victim" and declared that Papa and the man's son would duel each other. Papa was frightened, having never gotten over his fear of hurting others. On the eve of the duel, Reshar approached Papa and taught him that those that seek destruction, will always find it.

When the time for the duel began, the man's son struck violently against Papa and Papa, merely avoided his blows (despite his massive size). Eventually the man's son in a fit of rage grabbed one of Papa's closest friends, a little girl orphaned by war living in the table and demanded that he stand and fight. Papa reacted violently against the man and began to use his full strength against him, charging at him in a fit of rage and splitting the son in half.

When Papa recomposed himself, he nearly drowning in tears at the son's death. He picked up his body and pieces and abandoned the temple for all time. It is said, that Reshar created a discipline to symbolize the devotion to peace and love that Papa possessed for all living things, but also capture the violence that one can summon upon themselves when harming a loved one.

The Humble Giant is about tanking blows and ensuring your allies are safe, as well as punishing people for getting too aggressive.

Maneuvers

Body Eating Stone
Humble Giant (Stance)
Level: 8
Initiation Action: 1 swift action
Range: Personal
Target: You
Duration: Stance

You grow 2 size categories (you do not change attributes or natural armor based on this growth) and gain a 20 foot increase to all movement speeds. In addition, all creatures you do not designate as immune to this effect treat your threatened area as difficult terrain (including non-ground spaces) and you gain fast healing equal to your ranks in concentration.

You may choose targets to be immune to the second effect of this stance as a free action.

Cracks in the Earth
Humble Giant (Strike)
Level: 8
Initiation Action: 1 full-round action
Range: 60 feet
Target: All creatures in a 10 foot-wide line
Duration: 3 rounds
Saving Throw: Fortitude partial (see text)

Draw a 10 foot wide line out to your range, and all creatures within long range of you are drawn to it by 5 feet + 5 feet per 2 points of your Strength modifier. A reflex save negates this movement effect. You may choose creatures not to be drawn to the line.

Then, all enemies in the line take 10d6 damage and must make a fortitude save (DC 19 + Strength modifier) or become immobilized. They may attempt another save at the end of their turn each turn until the effect ends.

Denial of Aggression
Humble Giant (Counter)
Level: 1
Initiation Action: Immediate action
Range: 5 feet
Target: Attacking creature

Whenever a creature makes a successful attack roll against an adjacent ally, you may initiate this maneuver. You become the target of the attack roll, which still succeeds (and will deal a critical hit if it did so before), and you push the attacking creature 5 feet away.

Eternal Stance
Humble Giant (Stance)
Level: 5
Initiation Action: 1 swift action
Range: Personal
Target: You
Duration: Stance

While in this stance, you gain DR X/- and reduce all energy damage by X, where X equals your ranks in Concentration.

Expose
Humble Giant (Strike)
Level: 2
Initiation Action: 1 standard action
Range: Melee attack
Target: 1 creature
Saving Throw: Reflex negates

Make a melee attack roll against a creature. On a successful attack roll, push the target 10 feet in addition to dealing damage. This movement provokes attacks of opportunity as normal, but you cannot make an attack of opportunity this way.

Freedom
Humble Giant (Counter)
Level: 6
Initiation Action: Immediate action
Range: Personal
Target: Self

When you are targeted by any effect that freedom of movement would make you immune to, you can initiate this maneuver. You gain the effects of the freedom of movement spell until the end of your next turn.

This maneuver is a supernatural ability.

Giant's Fist
Humble Giant (Strike)
Level: 2
Initiation Action: 1 standard action
Range: Melee attack
Target: 1 creature
Saving Throw: Reflex negates

You gain a slam attack with a base damage of 2d6 + 1 1/2 your Strength modifier, and must use it for this attack roll. On a successful hit, you may make a trip attempt.

Giant's Technique
Humble Giant (Boost)
Level: 6
Initiation Action: 1 swift action
Range: Personal
Target: Self

Until the end of your turn, when you make attack rolls or use combat maneuvers, you may target 1 square per 5 ranks in concentration you posses instead of targeting single creatures.

Humble Stance
Humble Giant (Stance)
Level: 1
Initiation Action: 1 swift action
Range: Personal
Target: You
Duration: Stance

You may share a space with any allies. When a medium or larger target would enter your space, you may choose whether your space is considered illegal or not for the purpose of their movement. Allies of the same size of smaller that you share a space with are treated as though they had cover, granting a +4 bonus to AC and a +2 bonus to Reflex saves.

Multiple allies can benefit from humble stance simultaneously, but the effects of the stance do not stack. For example, 3 medium initiators using humble stance could share the same 5 ft. square, and all of them would receive the +4 bonus to AC, but not a +8 bonus to AC.

Interpose
Humble Giant (Counter)
Level: 1
Initiation Action: Immediate action
Range: Personal
Target: Self

At the start of any other creature's turn, you may initiate this maneuver. Move up to 10 feet, provoking attacks of opportunity as normal.

Protectorate's Thrust
Humble Giant (Strike)
Level: 1
Initiation Action: 1 standard action
Range: 5 feet (see below)
Target: 1 creature

Move into the square of your target, provoking attacks of opportunity as normal. Make a melee attack roll. If you succeed on the attack roll, move directly away from your space by 10 feet.

The range of this maneuver is the range of your 5 ft. steps. If you can move a larger distance (such as with the sparring dummy of the master), the range matches that instead.

Quelling Blow

I'm terrible at fluff, so let's just say that the Humble Giant discipline was founded by one of Reshar's disciples and a very ascetic, non-violent half-giant prone to fits of rage when his friends were in danger.

Well, I just finished my homework and was about to get started on finishing some homebrew, but I suppose I can take a crack at this to get the old juices flowing

And that my dear readers, is the tale of Papa Giru-Girumesh, The Gentile Giant. While I do believe it would work better if Papa Giru-Girumesh (yes, I do enjoy saying that) were an Ogre, I can't go against the myth presented.
