Favorite Quote Tournament: Round 0 [CLOSED]

With the proliferation of other OOTS-related tournaments recently, I thought I would get my own going. In this tournament, we are going to decide the best quote from the Order of the Stick comic strip, as chosen by you, the fans.

In this round, we are going to nominate the quotes that will enter the tournament. Here are the rules:

1. Each person may nominate up to three quotes from the Order of the Stick online strips (NOT from any of the books, please). Only one vote per person per quote. So you can re-nominate a quote which someone else has already nominated to move it up the list, but you cannot place two or three of your votes on one quote.

2. A quote is an unbroken speech (or part of one) from one character--no interruptions. Words may be omitted via ellipsis [...] from long quotes, or a description of the speech may be given as long as it is clear (so nominating Vaarsuvis' speech to the goblins in strip 10 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0010.html) would be okay). The entire quote is nominated, though. Also, I will be lenient if a character interrupts a quote. No conversations, though. It must be intelligible from one character's words.

3. Please post links to the strips where your quotes are found, so as to avoid confusion and so that I do not have to hunt for them myself.

4. I reserve the right to refuse to count votes that violate the above rules, though I will try to notify the person in question through this thread, and if the nomination is corrected I will count it.

The 32 quotes receiving the most nominations will be randomly placed into a bracket, and voting will commence in separate threads. In case of a tie for one or more slots, I will have a runoff vote with rules that will be announced.

The tournament will be double-elimination, so losing quotes will move to a "loser's bracket" and may continue on from there. Upon losing a match-up in the loser's bracket, the quote will be dropped from the tournament.

Voting will end on Sunday, September 15, at 9:00 PM EDT. No votes after this time will be counted.

Also I liked the quote where Belkar says something along the lines of "I just took the biggest dump since Elan assigned his Intelligence score" but I don't remember when it happened. I would nominate it as well, but I can't link to it. If someone could point it out to me, I would be grateful!

EDIT: Nevermind, I found the quote (comic #786 if you're curious). It's good, but it only really works in response to Roy's query, not as a stand alone line. Not sure if I'll use my third nomination.

Personally, what I find is that most of my "favorite quotes" in the strip are actually dialogs (at the very least, one sentence from a character and one reply from another character, sometimes more).

It's hard to find single-character quotes that can play in the same leagues as my favorite dialogs... but that is one!

Since the Giant basically said he writes the dialogue for those three as if it were one character, I'll take it.

I will follow the spirit rather than the letter of the "uninterrupted" rule. Basically, I don't want to have a conversation nominated. If the quote requires another character's statement in the middle to make it make sense, it probably won't work here. But little things I will overlook (such as Elan's "Amen" and Belkar's "The man makes some fine roast chicken" here. (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0467.html))

Also, keep in mind that you can vote for up to three quotes, and that you can vote for ones already submitted to help ensure them a place in the tournament.

No. You can vote for the "make more in my tummy" quote in the next round, and anytime later in the tournament that it shows up. However, you could not have said "I want to put one of my nominations on (quote), and my other two on (quote).
