Iron Avatarist - ANNOUNCEMENT AND RESULTS FOR LAST TWO CONTESTS

Hello, avatarists, spectators, judges and all!

It has been, over the course of the last two and a half years, my sincerest pleasure to have been put in charge of these wonderful contests known as Iron Avatarist that several of you love so much. I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing what everyone comes up with every contest.

Throughout my "reign" (yes, I shall call it a reign) I have worked with the help of a lot of you to try to make this contest the best I could make it. Special thanks to the lovely Serpentine for being my right-hand through it all. :smallbiggrin:

In an attempt to make the contest the best it can be, I have, after much consideration, come to the conclusion that it's time for me to step down from running these contests. I do not feel that I am the best man for the job anymore, and I think we need a fresh start to bring these contests back to life.

Therefore, I will now hand the reins over to the next host of Iron Avatarist. After discussing a few possibilities, we decided to approach someone that I personally thought would be an excellent choice. So please give a warm welcome to the new host of Iron Avatarist:

Crimmy!

Now, I still have a responsibility to the old contests I haven't wrapped up, so I'm doing that now (and it is actually the reason why this announcement took so long). This post will include the results for Iron Avatarist - Monty Python and the Ministry of Silly Avatars and Iron Avatarist - Middle Earth Mania. The trophies for these two contests were also made by Crimmy (with a very tiny and negligible help from me in two of the trophies), so credit to him. Thanks, Crimmy!

As for me: I'll still be around. Maybe I'll judge a contest or two, and maybe I will enter them. But I cannot continue to run these contests, and I truly think Crimmy will be a better man for the job.

I'd really like to thank Haruki for this opportunity. I've always sticked close to the IA contests (or at least, ever since I joined the avataring community) and I've had many ideas for competitions, some bad, and some worse (heh :smalltongue:). I've been there as contestant, judge, and now as helmsman. It's not enough to say I'm kinda nervous (I'm actually petrified with fear) as I know this is a great challenge, and I applaud Haruki for leading us for these past 2 and a half years.

Theres much I'd like to say, but alas! Time runs short, so I will finish this small statement with an awesome "Thank you, Haruki!" (picture rainbows, some fireworks, stars and a bald eagle flying over a nightsky full of stars and supernovas) and a most anxious "The contest is back!".
