I could have sworn there was a feat out there that basically lets your Animal Companion scale with your full character level (or maybe it was druid caster level) instead of just Druid Class Levels, but I can't seem to find it now....

Does it exist or did I imagine it?

What game? I know there's Horse Master. (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/horse-master-combat)

I suspect you're thinking of Natural Bond (http://dndtools.eu/feats/complete-adventurer--54/natural-bond--2030/).

Or possibly the Wild Cohort feat?

Natural Bond isn't gonna cut it... I'm playing a Scout 1/Favored Soul 1/Sorceror 1/Arcane Thuerge (using versatile spellcaster & Highten spell to meet the AT lv2 spell requirements early - DM gave it a pass).

Once I max out my Arcane Thurge 10, I plan to take 2 more levels of scout which will enable me to continue dual caster progression as an Arcane Heirophant. I really like the idea of a Companion Familiar - but by the time I enter AH I'll be lv16... with the animal companion of a lv1 druid. Natural Bond's +3 just won't be enough. Guess i'll probably just have to get used to the idea of not having a familiar or companion then.

Like Snig said, Wild Cohort (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/re/20031118a).

Dragon #325 has the Theurgic Bond feat, which lets you count the levels granting a familiar for your Animal companion as well.
