Is there any class that (even fluff wise) would be close to a bender from avatar? If not is there any home brew of a class like this? And lastly what we be a good start to.build something like this? Looking for tier 3. I was thinking.maybe something like a monk that has powers like a warlock that are elemental.themed and require the element as a focus?

Thank you

To reiterate once more for the now third topic that has a similar premise...

There's elemental ninja variants in Dragon Magazine #354 page 86-87 for fire/water/earth ninjas (the default ninja is a "air" ninja).

There's also Elemental Mantles (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20070629a) for ardents and other classes that gain mantles (there are mantled variants for most of the other psionic classes).

Then there's the "Warrior of Air/Earth/Fire/Water" elemental fighter variants in Dragon Magazine #355 page 93.

Finally there's the druid ACF "Aspect of Nature" where they can pick up an elemental aspect.

You could use swordsage (possibly with the unarmed variant) using the Desert Wind maneuvers for bending fire.

You can use shugenja for any of the elements, and wu jen for all but air. Pyrokineticist also works for fire, and you could be somewhat successful at making a waterbender by refluffing Cryokineticist (the variant described here, (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20040625e) not the terrible class of the same name. The Sonokineticist variant might be refluffed as airbender, since it would certainly explain the reduced damage dice.

Swordsage or maybe warblade can also be a passable earthbender, using Stone Dragon.

Ive played a Wu Jen in that sorta style since they are all about elemental magic. Its just that they dont have enough spells to really carry themselves without dipping into other elements

You might want to look into Spell Shaping (http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?board=64.0). It's a huge and very well done homebrew project that can basically be summed up as "Tome of Battle for Magic." The core of it is a series of circles, that function like schools from ToB, that each have an element or concept that they focus on and an associated mid range attack. Each of the circles has abilities that modify the base attack (so a fire blast might get turned into a blast wave). The base attacks can be used at will, while the formulas are per encounter with a refresh mechanic that varies by class.

There are a bunch of different classes, acfs, and prcs. Many of them focus on a small group of circles, though there are a few that can get rather diverse. The basic template is if fight with attacks that have a 60ft range, but there are classes that channel their attacks through unarmed strikes, melee weapons, ranged weapons and even breath weapons.

If you want to know anything else about it, I'd be happy to talk more.
