Io7V's indigo veil blocks all spells and SLAs on both ways.
Pretty powerful, but it also blocks the Io7V's own spells.
Now, the veil set in MIC, p. 213, includes the Veil of Whispers.
Its passive ability is to "give you immunity to the indigo veil effect of any prismatic spell."

Io7V's indigo veil behaves - as any other veil like a prismatic effect of a prismatic spell.

So, would this item solve the problem how to use the indigo veil effectively by being yourself immune to your own indigo veil?
The item costs 7.000gp and if that works, it would be a no-brainer for high level initiates.

So, am I right?

There's lots of discussion and debate (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=6997.0) about whether the Indigo Veil blocks the Io7FV's own spells in RAW and RAI, but ultimately like many things in D&D it's ambiguous and comes down to DM ruling.

No, the veil clothing magic items that make you immune to a color, make it so that you can move your body through a prismatic wall or warding and not be affected by that color. However if you cast a spell and target something on the other side, or shoot a ray through it or whatever, that spell isn't you but rather something you've cast that's independent of you.
