So I've been fiddling around with ideas and builds trying to make either the duelist prestige class work, or get something built that works in a similar fashion. Are there any suggestions from 1-20 for something that would work? GM is only letting us use 1st party pathfinder stuff, so Dervish Dance is very out.

The Agile weapon property (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/magic-weapons/magic-weapon-special-abilities/agile) gets you Dex to damage without Dervish Dance.

If you don't mind magic, you can also take a look at the Kensai Magus, and use your spellstrike etc. to deal damage instead of relying on adding your Dex bonus.

Why not Dervish Dance (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/dervish-dance-combat), the first party Pathfinder feat?

Do you/he mean CORE Pathfinder? Because that is quite different than 1st Party.

Also, what the other guy said about the Agile and Kensai and stuff.
Kensai is basically a Magical Duelist anyway.

Otherwise there are various Fighter/Rogue archetypes that may work.

Bards could maybe do this too - the arcane duelist archetype in the Advanced Players Guide is an obvious way.

If you want more ideas it might be useful to specify what you want a little more precisely though.

Yeah, Dervish Dance is 1st party material. I've literally got the Inner Sea World Guide right beside me, and it's on page 286.

Actually, I think 1st party material would be Homebrewed. It is material you make for your own use.

I'm not sure if Paizo is considered Second Party, but that's my suspicion. It's not really the terminology we use for it though.

Paizo makes Pathfinder, so any material they publish for their own game/IP is 1st-party. 3rd-party simply means someone else published it, but the resulting work is licensed for/compatible with the underlying platform/game.

The term 2nd-party is generally a misnomer. Typically when the term is used to describe something, the resulting work actually falls under the umbrella 1st or 3rd-party.

Just-a remember, there ain't no sanity clause (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6u8AgUXPpLM). :smalltongue:
