I remember a hulking hurler build that dealt so much damage you needed scientific notation to properly express it, does anybody else remembers it? And by any chance does anybody have a link to it?

I did a bit of googling but couldn't find an actual build.

The idea is fairly straightforward. Damage done by a thrown object increases linearly with the objects weight (+1d6/200lbs) A hulking hurler can throw any object he can carry as a medium load. Carrying capacity increases exponentially with strength so this breaks pretty quickly.

Combine this with being as large as possible and ideally a quadruped, then add on items which boost your carrying capacity even further and you'll reach the point where you can throw buildings, mountains and moons at people.

I know about the basis, the thing is that I made a claim in another thread (the "Balancing the Order" about "mundane" not needing moar damage and used the hulking hurler as an example and I want to be able to sustain my claim.

The thing is that I haven't been able to find it.

Well, there was Baby Shump (http://community.wizards.com/comment/20881781#comment-20881781), who could deal up to 3.879e271d6+2265 damage with his Throw Anything ability. Of course, that's more Tauric being broken than Hulking Hurler, and there are some rules issues with that particular build, but I believe that it had the highest numbers.

Close enough I guess.

Do you need an example of a Hulking Hurler dealing that much damage (i.e. that it requires scientific notation)? Because the bog-standard Hulking Hurler at the beginning of that thread (http://community.wizards.com/forum/previous-editions-character-optimization/threads/886586) was dealing up to 1,331d6+39 damage per throw. Not quite to the extreme that you're describing, but that's still almost 5,000 damage on average.

I did claim it needed scientific notation.

I remember a build using truly massive objects shrunk down to manageable size, is that the one? Read it several years ago, but can't find it now.

I also definitely remember _seeing_ that build, complete with the scientific notation, but that was years ago and I have no idea where to find it now. It was not the "shump" from the above link, because the page had colourful pictures in it.

Maybe on BG?

There's Tauric Creature/Whatever X/Hulking Hurler 3/Cancer Mage 1, which has Arbitrary Strength and hence Arbitrary high capacity to throw things.
