As the title implies, what's a good way for a warmage to escape a fight easily? To be more exact, he's an orb slinging necropolitan warmage/sand shaper, and the fight in question will be taking place in a library in a desert. The party consists of a ranger/scout/class-I-forgot-the-name-of undead hunter, a raptoran fighter, and two others whose classes I don't know, probably a wizard and a warrior type, and they're all level 10. Any advice?
Also, I'm entirely new to touchstones, so any hints there?

Anyone at all? Even the most basic things are welcome

I don't quite understand the setup. Is the warmage facing the party, or is he part of the group? Why does he have to escape? What means for holding back his escape is the opposition going to employ? What level is this warmage and how does his build look like?

He's gonna be a sand shaper 7/warmage 5, facing the party on his lonesome. The main thing I'm worried about is:
A) The aforementioned undead hunter shooting him down with their bow
Or B) The raptoran just running him down
I want him to escape simply because I've become more attached to the concept since I first made him and thus want him to stay alive

If you buffed you'd last longer in the fight. Perhaps Protection from arrows (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/protectionFromArrows.htm), and/or mirror image (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/mirrorImage.htm).

A simple invisibility (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/invisibility.htm) might be enough to escape. Or you can go fancy and use something like the Ring of Backup Plan (http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Ring_of_Backup_Plan_(3.5e_Equipment)).

I realize that warmages have a limited spell list, some of that can be resolved with Advanced Learning.

I will mention that a Warmage isn't necessarily a tricky or flexible caster. I'd question the tactic of escaping or even a solo fight. You might consider him leading several lower level minions, and he tries to escape after you get thru half of them. Use his primary spells where practical. Sand warrior may give you a bit more flexibility over a standard warmage. I see that summon monster is on his list, perhaps summon a mount to ride/fly away? Sand wall?

Pit trap (10') with the locking feature? He steps on the spot, he falls through the floor, floor locks over him? He then goes down the secret passage to escape, locking it behind him?

The mage'll probably be a challenge for the party by himself, given how unoptimized they are, but sand wall is looking like one of the better options here

Thanks, I think that Belt of the Wide Earth is just what the doctor ordered here

The warmage would be going to the PC's location, not the other way around, so I don't see how that'd work. I might use that later in the campaign though

Just watch out for Dimensional Anchors.
