This is an overview of the current Shadowrun campaign I'm running. It was inspired by the Shadowrun Mission "Through a Rose Colored Display Link" from this site (http://www.shadowruntabletop.com/missions/downloads-season-2/#anchor-SRM 02-05 Through a Rose Colored Display Link) and the series 2 Tennent Doctor Who episode "Rise of the Cybermen"
I'm sharing it for inspirational purposes.

The team is working the shadows in Denver and they're getting the hang of border crossings and the various factions that work in Denver. What they are starting to piece together is that there is a splinter group of Otaku/Technomancers from Ex Pacis in town.

These hackers are modifying BTLs and comlinks for hotsim, but disguising them as the standard coldsim stuff you can find in most stores. Once modified, they recruit various gangs to smuggle the equipment around town for sale to the general public. Worse, they have two insiders at the biggest computer tech company in town that has added this "back door" hotsim mod to the newest model commlink that's about to hit stores for Christmas.

The back-door modification allows the Technomancers to switch a plugged in user over to hotsim and attack their brain with a specialized virus. The victim could go berserk, catatonic, or shamble like zombie to do the Technomancers' bidding. The first two options have been good in silencing people before the Runners could catch them (though the team has still been successful in getting info out of some before they're disabled). The last option is going to be their "Magnum Opus".

Come February there will be the "Combat Biker Championships", being held in Denver. Most residents will plug in to watch the event and that's when the Technomancers will strike by uploading their virus onto the feed's signal and take a small chunk of the population under their control. The goal for the Runners will be to prevent this from happening, leading up to a miniboss fight against two controlled combat biker teams and then the final boss fight at the trideo station the broadcast is originating from.
