No, this isn't only for pokemons from the upcoming pokemon game, all pokemons and their trainers are welcome here.

Upon a hill in Inside is the X-Y stadium, specifically constructed for one thing, and one thing only, pokemon battles. The stadium (http://oyster.ignimgs.com/wordpress/stg.ign.com/2012/08/stad2.png) is of an undefined size but can host at least one pokemon battle at the time (depending on how many players that actually join this plot). Please note that the stadium isn't actually floating in a endless void so the pokemons and their trainers can't actually fall down and hurt themselves. :smalltongue:

As trainers and other visitors approach they will see various advertisement from sponsors who made this stadium possible, the main sponsor it seems is SHEOL Inc. who have made it very public with official SHEOL pokemon t-shirts, SHEOL pokemon dolls, SHEOL porcorn, SHEOL hot dogs and other products.

However, that's not why the trainers are here, inside the stadium itself there is a pokemon not only one but four pokemon centers ready to assist trainers with their friends. Here you can use the classic pokemon computer and buy official SHEOL potions, poké balls etc. etc. Using the pokemon centers and the computers are free of course. There is even free wi-fi here! (Though from another sponsor).

There is a Ironside industries store which sells rather exotic and powerful merchandise for trainers here as well for those who the standard stuff won't do.

For trainers who sign up for the actual tournament there are locker rooms where they can prepare which include showers, safety boxes, changing rooms and free toilets (all other toilets in the stadium are pay-to-use by courtesy of SHEOL Inc)

There are two tournaments in the arena right now, a 3vs3 tournament and a 1vs1 tournament. No matter which tournament the trainers must go by the procedure written down below.

Trainers who wish to partake must use the following procedure:

Sign up at one of the Tournament Booth for the 1vs1 or/and the 3vs3 tournament. A trainer can sign up to both. (This can be handwaved if the player so wish)
The trainer can sign up a maximum of six pokemons to the tournament. The trainer will only be able to use these pokemons during the fights. (Please PM me a list of these pokemons)
The trainer will then be directed to the locker rooms where she or he will have to wait for their turn to battle while perhaps talking to other trainers.
Once they fought they will either be sent home or wait to fight the next battle.
If you have a non-standard participant, don't hesitate to attempt to sign them up anyway. It's very likely to get into the tournaments except in some extreme cases.

Well, a tournament! What perfect timing! A large tent has been set up with a large sign in front of it that reads "The Ritzz Casino & Club Betting Booth. How... blunt. Anyway, the tent is bright orange and striped, therefore hard to miss. There's also a small bar inside the tent where employees sell Ritzzz brand cigarettes, drinks, and under the counter recreational drugs. Basically, it's an area for people to take bets and purchase a beer or two, or for rich people to show up and look classy. Mr. Ritz himself sits in the backroom of the tent, reading something.

An small gnoll dressed like an flight attendant climbs up on a step ladder so it can see Mil come up to the sign-up booth. "Yes? You want sign up to tournament?" It asks with a toothy smile.

The speakers around the stadium suddenly come to life.

Attention trainers!

It's now possible to sign up to a 1vs1 tournament as well as the 3vs3 tournament. Please contact the sign-up booths for further information!

We also wish to inform you that in many areas of the X-Y stadium smoking is prohibited. If you wish to smoke please do it outside or in one of the dedicated smoking areas you can find around the stadium.

In addition, underage drinking and smoking is prohibited. Make sure your customers are the proper age before serving them such products.

It still have to look up at the Charizard however. "Um, you with trainer?" She pauses. "Or you be trainer?" It gives the charizard a skeptical look.

I act as a representative for Team Keeper, which would like to enter. I have been voted to act as Trainer if it is necessary for the paper work. We have documentation. And business cards. he types out for the gnoll to see. And also a business card from his bag, which is really just the name and "Exploration-Retrieval-Search&Rescue" on it with a few pokemon icons in a corner representing the members.

It hands over a small form where he can write up the names of his pokemons. "Or you want me to write?" It stares at his claws, he (or she?) could handle a cellphone but could he handle a pen?

Somebody else is approaching either at a different time or different place. She is a tall human-ish woman with long black hair, vivid green eyes a shade not quite human and handsome face. She's wearing a sleeveless dark-coloured dress that seems to turn into a mass of beetles when viewed from the corner of the eye and a rucksack. Her right hand isn't there; instead, there's a large pike fish melded to her arm.

The girl goes over to the desk and places a piece of paper with her trainer card on top of it. "I'm here to enter this tournament." She says, like it's the most obvious thing in the world.

A gnoll dressed as a police officer comes to meet Dark Lighting already at the entrance. "Ah, you look like trainer! You come to sign up? I do it right here!" It offers, handing him a sign-up paper.

As Madame de la Moy approaches the booth a huge gnoll wearing a bikers jacket meets her at the booth. "Murr... you want in? Just sign." It points at the pile of papers next to it. Why is this competition run by gnolls again?

A gnoll dressed up as a light attendant smiles at Becca as she turns in her papers and card. "Good, good. That's all you need. Now you just get this card..." She hands back the trainer her trainer card plus another one. "This let you go into the trainers room. Have good day now!"

As the gnoll hands it over Becca might hear a familiar voice behind her. "Hey Becca. You're signing up to the tournament as well? I heard the competition is pretty tough." Oh hey, it's Beatrix.

Hmm, that's a bit different. Well, this is the nexus. Mil goes to a bench and sits down. Then he takes out a flute and closing his one eye, starts playing it.

"Hey Beatrix. You probably heard that because someone caught wind that I'm entering." Becca says with a confident grin. Oh yeah, Becca's feeling good about this.

"So I guess you finally have six pokemons now then?" Beatrix asks, knowing all too well there was very little chance Becca had actually caught that many pokemons since last time she meet her.

"So, think this is a good idea, Investigator?" Mouse asked the Purrloin in her hands, staring into his eyes. Regardless of his most likely cryptic answer, the short woman heads over to the sign ins, tucking "Investigator" into his riding bag at her waist as she does.

Nance/Mouse is a shorter pale woman with a rather pretty face that's marred by eyes that have seen too much in the way of horror and death. She wears all white, from her leather pants to her white leather vest.

"I'm here for the 1v1's."

Thad Green approaches the sign-up line with a with a big, yellow, duckbilled pokemon, both of themwearing large backpacks. The pokemon sways back and forth to a samba beat in it's own head with an excited "Lu-di. Co-lo."

"Hello," Thad says cheerily. "I'm here to sign up for the pokemon tourney."

He'll sign everything as necessary and hand over his list of Pokemon.

It starts to count the prices on it's claws. "Third prize, evolution stone of choice plus [moderate amount of cash]. Second prize, a bicycle with all accessories included and [high amount of cash]. First price is a shiny Beldum (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Beldum_(Pok%C3%A9mon)) and [very high amount of cash]." It explains.

"Good for you. I hope you trained that gyrados though, it could honestly be dangerous if you just let it loose you know?" That was actually out of real concern. She had seen that pokemon in action.

"Pfft, Draeke can even handle electric types. He's super tough. I'm not worried." Becca says with a dismissive shrug.

"Thanks, man," Thad says as he makes his way to the trainer room. His dancing Ludicolo jigging it up behind him.

Trainer Room

Upon entering and seeing a crowd of tough looking, and fully evolved pokemon, he stops and stares. Snapping his fingers twice, the Ludicolo moonwalks past him and hands him a pad and paper. and he begins scribbling on the pad not breaking eye contact with the pokemon.

The gaggle of Pokemon do their best to quiet down to polite levels for the flute playing, although it's a bit hard for a few of them. As the newest fellows come in a few of them wave hello cheerily.

"We'll see." The other trainer replies with an equally dismissive tone. "Let's just get to the trainers room and get a look at the rest of the competition." Beatrix, having already registered her team of pokemons, will walk to the trainers room to meet the rest of the trainers.

Becca follows along and takes a look at those gathered in the trainer room. Hmph, no one here looks all that tough. Well except that random group of pokemon in the corner, but she can totally take them. Yeah.

Thad awkwardly waves back at the pokemon before finding a place to sit and scope the competition.

The Ludicolo is still dancing the samba like a mad duck. "Lu-di. Lu-di." It dances it's way towards Becca and Beatrix. Thad watches with interest. This has a chance of being hilarious and informative. The Carefree Pokemon performs a spin and stretches out a green hand to the girls.

By this point the team breaks their huddle and spreads out to make themselves comfortable. Montblanc fades into the shadows, Leon and Riptide settle best they can on the human-intended benches, Wattsworth (who does, by the way, have a monocle on one of his many eyes) settles under the bench, clicking his mandibles, and Simon and Lucca stay where they are against the lockers. The flygon seems to be the only one who's nervous.
It seems they've decided to keep to themselves until addressed. Best not make things any more awkward for the humans with them there.

Beatrix immediately recognizes the duck-billed pokemon, she had seen that kind of pokemon before, they were hilarious! Sadly she can't recall their names but with some clever wording she could hide that fact!

"Hah, look. I have seen that type before, they're real goofballs." She exclaims as she see the Ludicolo and bravely accepts the hand of the water/grass pokemon. This ought to be fun right?

Peeking into the room is the police gnoll who were at the sign up booths. It seems to want something but isn't speaking up about it.

Becca eyes the Ludicolo. She's not so sure that she's seen this kind of pokemon before. "Hey, I think there was one on a TV show back home." She says, a bit uncertainly. She's not sure about grabbing its hand, but when Beatrix does with so little hesitation, Becca does the same a moment after.

Mil plays the flute for a bit of time, lose in the music. Upon finishing the song, he opens his one eye and puts the flute back. Can't play music all of the time waiting here. Well, there's more people here, including that girl who he met in the mall, the one with the odd evee.

Excellent! When it has both señoritas by the hand it starts moving their hands up and down to the beat of its... let's call it quacking, "Lu-di. Co-lo," lifting the each each hand every two beats. He's gives them a second before he starts doing a simple dance to the beat. Left foot forward, right foot forward. Left foot back, Right foot back. Lu, Di. Co, Lo. If they don't start dancing he'll bop the toes of their shoes in his feet. What they got lead in there or something?

Thad meanwhile, is glancing over at them taking notes.

A young boy heads for the Sign Up table. The seems to be around 12. He got blond hair and green eys. on his back lays a shield and sword and he wears brown leather clothes covered by a chainshirt. He got four pokeballs. three are placed on the back side of hsi shield and one at the hilt of his sword.

"I would like to sign in here."

"Wait, aren't you supposed to bet on trainers rather than their pokemons?" Turns out Dena knows something about pokemons, huh. "Since you don't know which pokemons that are going to be used each fight."

A large gnoll in a biker jacket looks down at boy. "Ok. You sign here with your pok-mons" It points at a pile of paper next to him. "Then you get card and you enter. Simple." The gnoll explains.

Might want to mention if he likes to be in the 1vs1 competition, the 3vs3 competition or both.

The gnoll gets a thoughtful expression as she hears Randii's request. "Okay, but remember you only use one pokemon at the time in both competitions. No dual or triple fights." She explains with a smile before handing over the sign-up papers.

"Hah! I wish my pokemons could dance." Beatrix remarks as she attempts to mimic the pokemons movements. Dance was an important part of her culture so she wasn't too shy about it.

Meanwhile the police gnoll sneaks closer to the trainers, holding a bunch of papers. What could it want?

Becca doesn't join the ludicolo right away. She's reluctant to do so at first. She's a tough pokemon trainer! That doesn't involve random dancing! But after it taps her clunky boots a couple times, she relents and and starts to mimic the steps. The aforementioned boots do make it a tad difficult, though. "This is silly." She comments with a giggle.

It wouldn't be doing this if it was serious. It's a Ludicolo for Christmas sake.

With the ladies moving their feet, he starts moving there arms in circles and leaning back and forth to get the rest of their bodies moving. When he's satisfied with their grooving, he turns starts dancing with them, clapping out a beat.

Thad, takes releases a Roselia from its pokeball. It seems uninterested in it's surroundings, but its trainer pokes its cheek and points to the dancing Ludicolo. "Roselia." It then starts whistling a tune (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5osSXhfZwys) for them to dance to.

The gnoll does have his attention for a bit.

A large gnoll in a biker jacket looks down at boy. "Ok. You sign here with your pok-mons" It points at a pile of paper next to him. "Then you get card and you enter. Simple." The gnoll explains.

Might want to mention if he likes to be in the 1vs1 competition, the 3vs3 competition or both.

"Okay, just making sure." She then hads over the trainer card. "Here. This be your entry card to tournament. Have a good time!"

The gnoll shies away from the dancing and turn it's attention to the charizard and Thad, looking at them with big eyes. "Um... so I was wondering. When you are introduced by announcer, you want them to say anything special about you and your team?"

Beatrix continues to dance, but is rather curious about the Ludicolo's trainer, and what the gnoll just said. Soe hse moves up to them. "Hey, won't you join in?" She asks Thad, considering how she would be introduced.

Randii gives a short salute. Will do, boss lady. Then she heads to the trainer room.

Where she sees a few people and a Ludicolo dancing, while a Roselia whistles a tune.

Then a Chandelure pops out of a ball from her belt and starts swinging along to the beat. This makes Randii laugh.

Well, if there is music, might as well play along. Mil puts the flute back to his lips and starts playing in harmony with the Roselia.

Becca laughs lightly again as she starts dancing properly. As properly as she can manage that is. Not well, of course. Still, it's nice just to relax and do something fun. Especially because things are going to get very serious soon. At least for this trainer.

Thad holds up a finger, for the Gnoll and Beatrix. He then holds his notepad up to the side of his mouth and points at the Roselia mouthing out "Primadonna."

As the song reaches it's finish, the Ludicolo takes its game up several steps, clapping in a much faster tempo before going into a spin and a split. It also quickly stands up and tries to draw Becca into a big hug.

The Roselia, doesn't change its tempo for anything the Ludicolo does, finishing its whistle with dignity. It takes a pair of low bows, like a stage performer. "Roselia, Roselia. Ro."

"Alright, now we can talk," he says, first turning to Beatrix. "He makes me dance with him enough, thanks. He also really likes dancing with new folks, so you did him a favor too." Then he gives his attention, flipping over a page and writing something new. "Have them just announce me as Thad Green and say this." He rips the page out and hands it to the gnoll.

The Chandelure can't really clap, but it seems to have enjoyed the Roselia's performance and is trying to convey this.

We would be preferred to be announced as a team and not by individual names. We were hoping this might get us some attention. What's it called? Advertising? the Lucario says in his telepath-speak.

"What?!" The gnoll growls. "Me no pok-mon!" It shakes it's fist at the boy and then slams it inot it's chest. "Me gnoll. You understand?"

"Gnoll? That's a strange name, but you still look like a Pokemon." The boy says, still beliving that there are only humans or pokemon.

"Not. Name! Graaahhh!!!"The gnoll makes some growling noises that probably aren't in common but still sound rather angry and rude. The trainer might end up with gnoll saliva on his clothes and face as the sign-up attendant expresses his disdain over Vis ignorance with a incoherent rant.
Vis won't have to hear too many of these as another small gnoll dressed as a flight attendant suddenly pushes the larger gnoll to the side. "You have to excuse. He have short fuse." She quickly explains with a smile as the larger gnoll stares angrily at Vis.

"You want me to clean you off? Terrible sorry for this." She offers him a blue napkin with motives of pokeballs on it.

Trainer Room

The gnoll quickly accepts Thad's note, looks at it and nods before turning it's attention over to the charizard. "Okay and you be um..." The gnoll glances at a notebook she is holding. "...Leon on team keeper. Okay. So what sort of advertising?"

Beatrix considers the gnolls question herself. "Just tell them that I'm Beatrix Linsel from Carthage." She had just won one badge and she didn't really want to announce that to the world.

"Could you refer to me as the Champion of Pazuzu? I guess it's true." Unless He sends another trainer with His direct backing, anyway.

"Just Reverend Gertrude of the Reformed Temple of Dalachrech will do for me, thank you." The fish-handed lady smiles.

Vis tries to cover his face, but it won't do him much help.

"What did I do you?" he asks before the other Gnoll stops him.
He takes the napkin with a tankfull nod.
"What are you anyway?" the boy asks while cleaning up. he got the feeling the new gnoll may be better suited to tell him.

Randii shakes her head a little at the Chandelure, who insists on continuing its dance from earlier, even though the music has stopped. Then she turns to the gnoll. Just my name, Randii.

Becca hugs the ludicolo back. It is ridiculously cute. But in a moment she's distracted. Ooh, they get to be announced as something in particular? "Announce me as Becca, up and coming Pokemon champion." She's just a bit full of herself, isn't she.

For our business. We're explorers and a rescue team. It's...not the most profitable thing here, but as long as we can keep ourselves open we shouldn't have to worry about anyone getting it into their heads that we're 'rare.'
They're apparently not entirely sure how citizenship works. Although given how loose Inside is with it it's probably easier than getting any sort of paperwork on it. Meanwhile Leon grah's something about humans giving themselves inappropriate titles.

Becca's answer get's a laugh out of Thad. "How many other kids do you think have said that?" he says, maybe coming off a little meaner than he intended. "What if you lose the first round? That'd be pretty embarrassing."

"Pineapple, c'mere you big goof," he tells his Ludicolo. "Thanks for dancing with him, at least," he adds. "You in the 3v3 or the 1v1?"

The police gnoll starts to write down what the trainers say on it's notepad. "Rescue team... Pazuzu... pokemon..." It mumbles to itself as it writes. But suddenly looks up at the fish handed lady. "Eh, how you spell Dalarach? I don't think I can spell that." It offers the notepad and the pen to the lady.

Beatrix rolls her eyes at Becca. Gee, she sure hadn't learned anything from the ariados encounter. "I'm in the 3vs3, that's where all the tactic is. The 1vs1 just depends on what type you send out first." She claims.

The stare does get to Thad, making him lean back nervously. "Glad you're confident. I'm in the 3 on 3 too..." He stops, registering his own pun with distaste. "Either way, stiff competition, huh? There's a team full of fully evolved pokemon right over there, and they've got decent type variation."

"Oh, okay. I'll write that... thank you." The gnoll writes that down before turning to the other trainers in the room. "Anyone else? You won't get another chance."

"I have three fully evolved pokemons and they're pretty tough as well. You just need to use some good strategy. Ghost/dark types don't even have a weakness." Beatrix says. Of course, two of those didn't really have an evolution at all. :smalltongue:

The gnoll shakes her head. "No, we are not pokemon at all. Not human either. We just gnolls." She explains with a nod. "There are lot of trainers who aren't human or pokemon either. You should look at the trainer room."

"Yeah. Battling smart can make up for a lot." The young trainer agrees. Because you're so good at that, Becca.

Becca randomly looks at her belt and grabs a ball off of it. She lets Shroomy, her unimaginatively named Shroomish, out of his ball. He likes being in his ball elast out of all her pokemon, and maybe he wants to meet some of the other grass pokemon. The little mushroom pokemon looks around at the new environment, especially at the other pokemon present.

There part concluded, Leon and Lucca let the gnoll do her thing and go back to discussing team tactics.

Meanwhile, Simon, the Flygon, nervously approaches Thad, wringing his green paws. He eventually goes over and extends one to the boy with a timid " -gon."

A pirate comes to sign up for the 1 on 1 battle! She has a handheld cannon and a voltorb named Evil Doll. "Howdy," she says, signing the various release of legal responsibility papers that may or may not exist.

Bouquet, the Roselia, crosses it's legs as it sits on the chair and waves a rose to Shroomy as it softly chimes, "Roose,"

"Well, Charizards kinds of tick all of my intimidation buttons. They are kind of THE intimidating pokemon."

"Well hey there buddy," Thad says reaching out his hand to take the Flygon's paw. "How are you?"

"Gon." he replies softly as his paw is shaken. He's clearly a bit frightened, but starting to warm up since nothing bad has happened.

Randii returns her Chandelure, who was still swinging away.

Shroomy decides to go investigate this flowery pokemon. He waddles over to her and looks up from the floor. "Sh sh, mish!" He says in greeting. He doesn't get to see too many pokemon that he isn't battling and that aren't on Becca's team.

The gnoll shakes her head. "No, we are not pokemon at all. Not human either. We just gnolls." She explains with a nod. "There are lot of trainers who aren't human or pokemon either. You should look at the trainer room."

Vis still looks a bit confused. He offers the napkin back.

And he will then go there assuming they let him.

Speaking of which, Simon lifts his to show his name embroidered in green on the blue fabric with small, angular letters. Thad might realize the style is referencing his rectangular wings, or just figure it looks cool.

He enters the room, prepared to see strange things. AS he enters, the first thing he notice are the many pokemon walking around and wearing bandanas. They must belong to a trainer, becasue what wild pokemon wear anything. He wonders if it is normal to release his pokemon and searches for a free place.

Verily enough, her voltorb is now where it always is: hanging onto her somewhere. Actually, it would be better to put it on her shoulder. So she does that. Alvilda puts her voltorb on her shoulder, as if it were a one-legged parrot.

Shroomy bobs up and down in response to the curtsy. He's not a very cultured pokemon, having Becca for a trainer, but he can respond well enough to that! But then he goes and plops down on his butt, which is admittedly not much further from the ground than his feet most of the time. "Shroomish, shroom." Roselia has pretty flowers! So bright and colourful!

Meanwhile, Becca leans up against the wall and watches Shroomy from over there. She's always interested in what her pokemon get up to.

Meanwhile the police gnoll nods. "Okay Mr. Noce. What city is your gym in?" She asks the gym leader´before she's suddenly interrupted by the announcement.

[Also signing up: Alvilda]

"Of course not man, but you are familiar with pokemon battles yes? Only send in one pokemon. Only fight to fainting, yes?" The gnoll asks before he's interrupted as the speakers come to life once again.

[Stadium Wide Announcement]

Attention trainers! The speakers announces loudly.

It has come to out understanding that there needs to be a rule clarification in case anyone isn't aware of what we take as granted in this tournament. There are after all many cultures with pokemons within the nexus and all of them don't have the same attitude towards battling as we do.

No trainers or pokemons are under any circumstances allowed to take the life of their opponents. I repeat, these battles are not to the death and I can not put enough empathize on this fact. In addition if a pokemon clearly is no longer able to fight anymore due to it's injuries it will be taken out of the game, pokemon cruelty is not something something we or SHEOL Inc. support.

((I knew about the color fader, but the lack of "red" "blue" is annoying. I;d have to punch it in every time. Besides, It's the contrast of red and blue that's important.))

"Very nice to meet you Simon," Thad tells the Flygon. "A team of pokemon without a trainer is really impressive. You guys are going to be tough, especially without being able to listen for trainer commands."

Meanwhile, Bouquet is very proud of her flowers, her trainer is quite good about misting them daily. "Roselia, Rose." She holds them up to catch the light for a perfect velvety sheen on the petals. It's too bad Thaddeus is taken to habitat building. He'd be a great coordinator with his eye for detail and beauty, and with Bouquet on his side, he'd be unstoppable.

Meanwhile, Leon and Riptide exchange glances. Who the heck had to be told fighting tournaments were not to the death, especially when most of the entries aren't doing the fighting? People are nuts.

After that he contiunes to stare at the free pokemons. Who gave them all these bandanas and why isn't he here?

Vis' staring is returned by the rather amusing image of all the team slowly turning to realize they're being stared at (except Simon who's in another conversation) at staring rather confused for several moments, punctuated by the Dusknoir popping out of his hiding place to state, Monsieur, il est grossier pour regarder.

Shroomy looks at the flowers in wonder. He was right. So very pretty."Mish shroom, mish." He's never seen flowers so nice, on a pokemon or otherwise.

Mouse can't help but look around at all the kids and shake her head before looking at Needs. "So, Investigator. Think we'll make it?" She wonders aloud.

Needs would scoff if he could, instead of just spouting vaguely relevant song lyrics. Make it? Against these delicate little sunflowers? Pfft. The Purrloin tries to climb up on top of Mouse's head, using 'Nancy' as a stool upon which to give the competition a look of smug superiority.

Mouse can't help but smile and chuckle as she reaches up to scratch the Purrloin's head. "Yes, you really are The King of Kings, aren't you?" She asks, still giving a genuine smile. It'd been so long since she'd smiled so often. It appears Needs has a good effect on her.

"Yeah, nice to meet you." Beatrix repeats, not really sure what else to say. She could get out Alyx though, maybe he would want to talk with the "free" pokemons. She takes up one of her pokeballs which she have numbered 1 and releases Alyx (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Beheeyem_(Pok%C3%A9mon)). "Here, meet my first pokemon. His name is Alyx and he can use telepathy to possibly translate what you say."

The psychic pokemon looks around, suddenly completely surrounded by others. Huh.

"Awful lot of talking pokemon." He turns to Simon. "You holding out on me?" He looks over at Pineapple bouncing rhythmically up and down by the lockers. "How about you, huh? All these years, you're actually some Portuguese savant?"

The ludicolo tilts its head without stopping. "Colo?"

"Good to hear."

Bouquet pats the shroomish's head. Such a smart one. His drab brown exterior belies an eye for true beauty. "Rosi, Roselia," she coos appreciatively.

"Awful lot of talking pokemon." He turns to Simon. "You holding out on me?" He looks over at Pineapple bouncing rhythmically up and down by the lockers. "How about you, huh? All these years, you're actually some Portuguese savant?"

The ludicolo tilts its head without stopping. "Colo?"

"Good to hear."

What, you can't talk with yours?

A young woman with short, pink hair has sidled up next to him. She wears a red tank top and blue cargo pants. The tank top has a Voltorb on it.

Beatrix looks at the screen. This was it, her very first tournament. Now she suddenly felt nervous all of sudden, with all these fully evolved pokemons, was she going to be knocked out in the first round?
She really hoped she was going to be teamed up with Becca or something, that would be an easy win.

Alyx observes the screen as well but remains silent, trying to get a better look at his opponents. Not that many dark types at least but there was a ghost type there, fully evolved too. That would be a bad match up, sure hope he didn't have to encounter that one.

She hears the announcement! Cool! Alvilda waits in an appropriate waiting spot to hear the following announcement that should be coming soon.

The 3vs3 tournament has three prizes for first, second and third place.

Third Place: Your choice of an evolution stone, thunder, water, fire, any stone you can think of plus [medium amount of cash] in prize money.

Second Place: A brand new bike with all accessories to make sure you can carry your entire inventor as you bike past other trainers. This comes with [high amount of cash] in prize money.

First Place: Your own shiny Beldum (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Beldum). A unique pokemon which eventually will become one of the most powerful pokemons out there. This unique pokemon also comes with no less than [very high amount of cash] for the winner!

The trainer heads straight for the arena, taking any instruction she might receive to got ot he right. Place. Oh yeah, she's ready for this. Whoever her opponent is, she's not worried.

Then come the announcements. Randii does a fist pump upon hearing her name. Awesome, first match! Wish me luck! She winks at Thad, then runs to the entrance to the blue arena, wondering who her opponent will be.

So, that's where she goes. She arrives there equipped with a cutlass, a pistol, a handheld cannon, and a voltorb.

Hint: she's a pirate. Pirates don't lose easily.

Vis watches after the pokemon that just end the talking without any reason.

"How rude!" he sais before the matchup appears.

"Come on guys let's go." he sais to his pokeballs as he heads for teh arena. The Zorua would be a nice addition to his team, but that would mean he wins the 1v1.

The pegasus hops up and heads towards the Red Arena.

As does the tall, mostly-human woman with both of her pokeballs.

"Welp, we're up. Let's rock this." 'Nance' tells her companion with a small smile before reaching up to take him off her head, entering the arena.

Her opponent will see Mouse/Nance as a pretty woman, in her upper twenties, with wavy black hair reaching to her shoulders. Her arms and hands are bare, showing cybernetic fingers on her left hand. She's wearing a white leather vest tucked into black utility pants which are in turn tucked into black combat boots. She has a small smug smile on her face, but her eyes are almost emotionless as she looks everything over.

Announcer's Platform

"Dammit, where's Dexter? He should have been here an hour ag-" A sound technician mutters under his breath before a hand on his shoulder stops him. "I'm here." A smug sounding man says with a smirk. When the technician turns around, he'll see Dexter standing there. The man is tall and thin, with slicked back brown hair and a thin mustache. His lips are curled in a nearly perpetual sneer, and he smokes a thin cigarette while holding a small glass of bourbon in his other hand. The man is dressed in a sharp white suit with wingtip shoes and a snarky attitude.

The technician starts to stammer something, but Dexter just shakes his head and grabs the microphone and announcing notes before stepping up onto the hover platform waiting for him.

It rises up into the air rapidly with Dexter on it, and once he's visible by all, the Announcer speaks up.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls. Welcome to the SHEOL Arena for the first annual Pokemon Tournament! All prizes have been provided by the forever generous SHEOL Inc. and today's Battle Music (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WnkhVPmapc8) is brought to you by lockerz102 (I don't know who they are, but credit is given to who it is due). Not only that, but our wonderful judges have volunteered their day to be here. Before we begin, lets all give our hosts and workers a big round of applause!" He shouts, clapping himself when the crowd does so.

"Now, for the rules. In regards to both types of fights, the following rules are in effect. First, no destroying the stadium or harming anyone other than the pokemon you're currently opposing. Any attempts to permanently damage or kill the pokemon are forbidden. Next, there are boundaries to the fighting space. Flying too high for too long will count as surrendering. Third, there is a time limit for each fight. While it isn't concrete, should any battle take too long, the judges will stop the match and vote on who wins."

"Additional rules for the One on One matches are as follows: You may only use one pokemon during the fight and the first to defeat his or her opponent wins. For the Three on Three matches, you may only switch out your pokemon twice in any given match. However, you can only do so when your opponent switches out their own. The first to defeat three of his or her opponent's pokemon wins the match." Dexter explains.

At that, the Announcer smiles a bit. "Now, I expect this to be a nice, good, clean tournament. I hope you all wish the same. No shenanigans would be preferred. And with that said, let's get to the Introductions!"

Dexter takes a moment to pull out the paper he has for names and introductions before frowning. Randii? That's it? No, that wouldn't do. Not for an event like this. He gives a loud cough to clear his throat before putting on his best Dramatic Voice. "In The Blue Arena, coming from the distant lands beyond The Sunset Mountains, descended directly from the lines of Arias The God-King, I am proud to present Randii and The Astonishing All-Stars!" He says, gesturing with a dramatic sweep of his arm as spotlights come down to reveal the combatant. Once they do so, he sweeps his hand in the other direction to cause the lights to shine down on Becca as well.

"Aaaaand on the other side, her opponent. Don't let the gentle look fool you, people. While she's signed up under the name of Becca, Up-And-Coming Champion, little whispers on the wind have told me who this really is. Standing before you, heralding directly from The Realms of Xanthian Darkness, is Bekka, Princess of Twilight and Despair!" Ahh...everyone loves a Villainess.

Dexter. What are you doing? You know that's not what they meant by an introduction. Too bad he doesn't listen to reason. He was paid to put on a show, and by the gods, that's exactly what he's going to do.

The man turns on his platform to point at Red Arena, directing the lights to Dark Lightning. When Dexter sees the Pony, he's able to keep from sighing, but he still takes a long drink from his glass of bourbon. "Here is our first contestant in Red Arena. He is the Champion of Pazuzu, he is the four-hooved holy equine warrior, and defier of the very Fates themselves. I am humbled by his presence and proud to present to you all Dark Lightning!"

Dexter gives the Pegasus a deep bow before pointing at his opponent. "We have a special guest today folks! We have ourselves a Gym Leader! I give you Mil C. Noce, Leader of Mallcent Gym! We're honored here tonight folks. After all, we know he's had to have a long and hard road to get here. I hope he finds our simple stadium to be worthy, as well as his opponent." Dexter says with a wry smile.

With the 3v3 matches introduced, Dexter turns to the 1v1s. "In Green Arena we have a pair of lovely ladies ready to duke it out, so let's see who they are!" He says with a grin before lights shine down on the pirate. "Sailing in from the Crystal Shard Seas, I present The Pirate Queen Alvida! Careful folks, she might be here to take our wallets."Dexter jokes as an aside with a chuckle. "You might have heard about her in the news lately when she defeated that brute of a Commodore, Augus Trope, in a duel to the death. Speaking that they only had dull spoons to fight with, I congratulate her on such an accomplishment!" He gives another bow before looking at his cards again and pointing the lights to Nance.

"And here are her opponents! The small one is quite a powerhouse, so don't let his size fool you. He is the Ozymandias, The King of Kings, and expects you to bow before his accomplishments! His handler, the beautiful Nance Wake, is quite easily underestimated as well. Look at her cool gaze and tremble before the experience the immortal sage of wisdom has gained over the eons."

Finally, Dexter turns to the last Arena, downing the rest of his bourbon as he does so, and gestures with both hands towards Vis. The young boy will find the spotlights upon him. "Another young champion has decided to grace us with his presence, my dear Spectators. The first trainer in Grey Arena is Vis, a talented and experienced warrior from the far west. His small stature might throw you off, but in all reality, he is the defender of his Father's Celestial Courts, capable of holding off entire legions with his blade."

And at last, he gets the lights to shine down upon the final combatant. "And our final combatant for this round, Reverend Gertrude of The Reformed Temple of Dalachrech. She is the Mistress of their God, his personal retainer and servant. Such a person is a rare sight, and it is one that will forever go into the history books." Dexter says with a nod towards Gertrude, lifting up his cigarette in a salute.

Once the final introduction is over, Dexter extends his arms out to the side and spins slowly, gesturing with his hands to get the crowd roaring in excitement. At the peak, he makes a cutting gesture to cease the noise. "May the fights...BEGIN!"

"Meow meow mother****ers," Ozymandias/Inspector/Needs pronounces upon reaching the stage. This Purrloin hasn't even the slightest of doubts as to the certainty of its victory, swaggering into the green arena, striding in on all fours as if it already won.

Randii grins at her introduction. That was way better than anything she could've come up with. She'll wave to the audience, obviously pleased with Dexter's work.

Of course, he made it all up, but hey, who was she to deny the man his work?

Becca looks bewildered at the anouncer. How the heck did he come up with that story? Oh whatever. It doesn't matter. What does matter is winning this match. Becca grabs a pokeball from her belt. "You here to battle or wave at people? Go Phanish!"

Becca throws her ball and the phanpy emerges with a cry! The little elephant pokemon doesn't look too impressive, but he's raring for a fight! He wastes no time in curling up into a tight ball for some reason.

Randii grins as she grabs a Pokeball from her belt.

Little of both, really. Course, I was also stalling to see who you'd throw out first. She throws her Pokeball. Let's go, Page!

And out from the ball comes a Samurott!

Randii raises an eyebrow. Defense Curl? Eh, might lessen the blow. Alright, Page, use Water Pulse! The Samurott widens his stance a little, then sends out a pulse of water.

Becca grits her teeth. Jerk. "Come on, Phanish! You know what to do!" The phanpy suddenly shoots to the side, rolling at high speeds. The pulse of water just misses him. Phanish speeds around, making a short curve to come around and smash into the samurott. That's the idea at least.

It seems that Page didn't expect the little Phanpy to be quite so fast. He gets hit, though it doesn't seem to be too bad of a blow. He shakes his head a little.

Ah, right, Rollout. Makes sense.

Page...use Surf.

Page gives a cry as water rushes out from him, a huge wave headed right for the Phanpy.

((I'm just assuming that was Rollout. I might be wrong, and if so, feel free to correct me. I just like calling the moves.))

The phanpy is already recovering from its first attack, and, somehow, it's rolling even faster than before. Remarkable for a pokemon that's usually fairly slow.

"Hurry, Phanish! Go right through!" Go right through? The phanpy suddenly turns on a dime and is headed straight for Page. As the wave peaks, Phanish shoots right through the bottom of it. He gets battered, but not nearly as badly as he would have if the wave had hit him full on. As it is, he shoots through the back of the wave, trying to slam into Page even harder than before.

Alvilda the Pirate smirks. She definitely did not do that with a pair of dull spoons. But, now, she might as well tell people that she did. It's quite the awesome feat.

She sees her opponent. Perfect. This seems pretty trivial. She loads her Evil Doll (a Voltorb) into her handcannon, points it straight up in the sky, and breathes fire into the cannon.

This causes it to fire the voltorb straight up into the sky...before it comes back down and lands in the field, ablaze and white-hot. "Avast!" she says.

Randii seemed to have been betting on Phanpy being weak to Water moves to stop it right there. Seems this particular Phanpy is tougher than she thought.

Page seemed to be a little bit more cautious than Randii, though, as he didn't expect his attack to take out Phanish completely. Which means he's already bracing himself for the hit when Phanish comes out of the water flying at him. He takes it, though it did more than last time.

Well, fine then. Page, use Razor Shell!

The Samurott reaches its right front paw over to its left arm, grabbing the armor plate there and pulling it off. Then he lunges at Phanish, swiping at it with the plate.

"Is that all you got? Phanish can take you out any time!" Becca shouts, apparently feeling good about how this battle is going so far. And why shouldn't she? Phanish takes the hit like a champ, bouncing back but curving right around and firing back at the samurott like a bullet. He's a bit of a one trick pony, but it's clear why. After every attack his power and speed jump again and again.

Mil takes a brief bow as he is annouced, then takes out a pokeball and throws it.

"Geri, you are up."

The houndoom howls, while Mil takes out a drum and starts playing it.

Red Arena

Dark Lightning smiles and waves a hoof at the crowd. Turning to his opponent, he bows. "Steelwing, go!" He reaches down, pulls a pokeball from his bandoleer and throws it into the air. It opens, and reveals a steel-grey Skarmory with shining metal feathers and red under-wings.

The Skarmory's first act is to scrape its feathers together, producing a horrendous metallic noise aimed to cause the Houndoom to lower its defences.

Grey Arena

Gertrude waves her human hand at the audience and smiles, before she takes a pokeball and sends out a Shuckle. The red-and-yellow cratered stone has several worm-like limbs protruding from the holes and wiggling.

Mil bangs out a melody on his drum, and while Geri pulls his ear close, he let's loose a stream of fire (flamethrower).
Yes, Mil gives his directions through his music, just a little something to make things tricker for his opporents.

The flames lick over the Skarmory, and the Steel/Flying type cries out in pain.

Dark Lightning makes a piercing whistle; the sound travels further, and can cut through wind better, than speech. As Dark Lightning works with weather, his pokemon are trained to respond to whistles. And I did come up with this independently, too.

Anyway, Steelwing the Skarmory's wings flare with light before the Armour Bird Pokemon swoops towards the Houndoom and tries to smash his wings against his opponent. (Steelwing)

Well, than its one more thing to keep this interesting. Once again, Mil beats on his drum, and so for his defence, Geri launches a flamethrower at Steelwing, hoping that the flames will either drive him back or make him faint.

Randii smirks. Is that so?

Phanish's attack may jump up in power with each hit, but it actually has to hit to do that, right?

Page doesn't take the hit this time, instead dodging and letting the little Phanpy roll right by. Then he follows up with another Razor Shell.

Vis stands there with shield and sword drawn. As the spotlight comes over him he tries to cover his eyes from the light. He wonders at the words and is much confused.

"How the helll did he know so much about me? The only wrong thing is that father isn't Celestial." he puts the pokeball on the sword onto the edge and swings it. This way the ball slides over the blade and the ball flies to the field releasing a Joltik. "Go, Spidy." A little furry spider with four blue eyes and yellow fur appears. It's so cute.

Phanish is weakened by that miss, but his speed doesn't decrease at all. In fact, he's still getting faster. Despite the fact he could have gotten out of the range of that blow easily before Page could turn to deliver it, he grinds to a stop right next to her and takes the hit.

And boy is it a heck of a hit. It may have been softened by his defense curl earlier, and that might be the only thing that lets him hang in there, but it's still a powerful hit that almost KOs him outright.

But that's just what he wanted. Phanish bounces right back and Counters the attack. He smashes into Page with twice that super effective damage she hit him with. That's gotta hurt.

Nance watches as the Voltorb lands. Well, she hadn't expected that kind of entrance. Even so, her face doesn't reveal her slight surprise. Instead, she points dramatically at the Voltorb as she shouts to Investigator. "Investigator! Confuse it!"

After another whistle, the Skarmory reaches down with a wing and sprays sand from the arena's surface towards the Houndoom's face and, more importantly, its eyes.

Yo ho ho and a bottle of ether!" the Purrloin shouts at its adversary, almost managing an almost-perfect impression of the pokemon's master, as its eyes swirl, glow, and hum with dark energies, to try to befuddle and unnerve the competition.

It was meant to keep the attack from landing, but it appears that failed. Anyways, Geri having been slamed agained the ground, picks itself up, only to get sand in its face. It paws at his eyes, as Mil pounds out a new tune.

Geri tries to refocus, and tries the tatic on just using flamethrower in the main direction of where he saw Skarmory.

The Skarmory Swiftly dodges the attack, sending out star-shaped rays in response to the attack, and Dark Lightning's piercing whistle.

Swift, this isn't good. Geri takes another hit, and still it can't see. Mil frowns, sometime his pokemon don't get the music. He rebeats the tune, and Geri gets the measure this time. This time, Geri gives out a truly loud howl(roar).

This might be helpful for winning this match.

Steelwing the Skarmory is returned to its ball! And out comes [1d5=1] Fate, the Honchkrow. When Dark Lightning whistles a command, the Big Boss Pokemon will dive at the Houndoom, screeching as it does to try and Astonish her opponent.

Well, this isn't as quite as a good matchup, but it will work. Geri is hit with the Astonish, pausing it for a moment.

Another whistle, and Fate spreads her wings and tries to buffet Geri with them. (Wing Attack).

And Geri gets hit with Fate's wings, through now the tune changes back to one heard before. You know what that means, flamethrower right at Fate.

Phanish is one tough little Ground type. He took a Surf and a Razor Shell and keeps on going!

Page wasn't expecting Phanish to make it through his attack, so he doesn't expect the Counter. He doesn't have time to dodge it, and it lands, dealing a lot of damage. Page goes flying back a ways, managing to stay on his feet. He's hurt, bad, but he isn't done yet.

Randii smirks. Well, that was unexpected. Page, you know what this means, right?

The Samurott gives a short nod. This is followed by another Surf.

"You know what it really means?" Becca asks from her side of the area, a big grin plastered across her face. She sure looks like she knows what it means, and like she'd really enjoy telling Randii. There's a reason she sent out Phanish first. Phanish is dang good at what he does.

Phanish backpedals away from the rising wave, falling into a roll and speeding in the opposite direction. Look at that little elephant go. He outpaces the wave and move out of its path. He's not going to come so close again, though. He's too battered for that. But what he does do is suddenly kick up several large rocks from the ground and send them in a slide toward the samurott.

"It means it's time the little ground type beats the big, tough water type." Becca says, as the rocks fly.

Page starts backing away from the rocks and towards one side, letting them slide right past.

Page faces Phanish again, this time going for Water Pulse. Sure, it's smaller than Surf, but it's faster, too.

Evil Doll is confused! It doesn‘t know what kind of sham-pirate would even want to drink a bottle of ether.

As a result of its confusion, it tries to explode, but fails to do so because it causes a short-circuit instead, blowing its guidance system. As a result, the hot voltorb has no choice but to roll around in figure 8s, over and over, around and around.

Alvilda retorts, “Arr, rum be so much better for ye!“

Faster, yes. But not fast enough. Phanish takes an unconventional direction, though. he tunnels straight down into the ground. The pulse of water hits the hole he disappeared down into, narrowly missing the phanpy.

"Yep. Pretty sure it is." Becca says confidently. She's unshakable, isn't she.

But where is he now? There's no sign of him; even the sound of his digging gone. Unless... does Page feel something right below her feet?!

Sadly, with how worn he is from the Counter, he just can't quite move fast enough.

When Phanish pops up, he'll catch Page right across the jaw, which is enough to bring him down finally.

Randii gives a sigh as she brings up her Pokeball. Alright Page. Ya did good. Page is brought back into the ball, which she places back on her belt. She grabs another one and tosses it out.

Alright, Morrison! Let's finish what Page started.

And out of the ball comes...a Leavanny!

Randii doesn't do anything yet, since I think the rules allow Becca a chance to switch now, if she wants. Also, Morrison is male as well.

It's that confidence that stops her from returning Phanish to his ball, despite the fact that he's on his last legs in this battle. That's not to say that the phanpy doesn't still have some fight in him. "Rock slide, go!"

Morrison will have to contend with Phanish's speed the moment the nurturing pokemon appears from the ball. Another slide of rocks fires toward the leavanny, hoping to catch him off guard and score the first him.

If Phanish was hoping to catch Morrison off guard, or hoping that Morrison would be slow, then he will be disappointed. Morrison darts to the side, easily avoiding the rocks.

This Leavanny is fast.

Morrison swings an arm towards Phanish, sending many sharp leaves flying at the Phanpy. The leaves seem to be surrounded by some kind of aura and curve through the air to hone in on their target.

Well at least Phanish can salvage something from this round if he can just move fast enough. That leavanny might be fast, but Phanish's speed has been boosted after every attack! If he can't toss something at his foe, she should be able to catch him.

So the phanpy rapidly shoots forward, weaving through the leaves and heading straight for Morrison. Should he catch him, Phanish will slam into him with what is probably his last rollout for this battle.

Fate is not as badly injured as Steelwing was after one Flamethrower, and uses the dancing shadows caused by the flames to create a horrifying, damaging illusion (Night Shade; learnt when Murkrow).

"Shuckle, Rollout!" With Gertrude's words, her pokemon retracts its legs and head into its stony shell, before the Shuckle starts rolling towards the Joltik. Should it hit, it will likely hurt.

Sparks of yellow electricity appear in between Joltik's mandibles and it fires it as a stream of yellow electricity at Shuckle. As it flies through the air, the tip opens up and expands, forming into a large spider web of electricity. Should it hit Schuckles movment should srink and the web will electrocute him. He may still hit if he is strong enought.

Either way, Evil Doll was not expecting that, so it gets punched painfully in the face. This, obviously, causes it to roll backwards a lot.

After it finally stops rolling backwards, Alvilda the pirate grins. "Arrr, Evil Doll! Now be the time to use Phoenix Infinite!" Evil Doll's special move! Oh, no! I wonder what it could possibly be.

For all visual intents and purposes, Evil Doll just seems to continue rolling around in a Figure 8 while charging up all sorts of electrical and magnetic energy. It's visibly sparking.

The crustle pops out of her shell and blasts a barrage of rocks at Morrison. She fans them out so it will be much more difficult for him to dodge them all.

That's a direct his against the poor electro pokemon. Still Joltik manages to remain on Shuckles. It seems the little spider got treined hard. Gertrude might notice that it is close to a pass out.

"Go Spidy! Discharge!"

Joltik will then be surrounded by electricity and shoot lightnings right into the hole the stone came from.

Unfortunately, whilst the Joltik may be close to feinting, it's not as close as the Shuckle just proved itself to be by passing out.

"Back you come, Shuckle. Congratulations, Vis." Gertrude smiles as she returns Shuckle to his ball.

Static. It's building up static and whatnot, rolling around like that, heedless of anything going on around it. Needs the Cat clutches its burnt paw, frowning at the super-attack surely headed its way.

"Purrloin!"

It runs right at the voltorb, charging on all fours. It races right for the center of that figure eight, grits its teeth, and JUMPS-

Not into, but right over the Voltorb, springing high into the air as only a cat can. It then continues right for Evil Doll's trainer, intending to make good on its name by stealing a hat and handcannon right from the pirate woman's unsuspecting person!

Evil Doll has finished charging! This happens just after this Purrlion jumps over it and starts running towards Alvilda the Pirate.

Soon afterwards, a large electric bolt comes out of the Voltorb and shapes itself like an albatross-sized bird. At the speed of a pigeon, the electric-bird flies after the other Pokemon.

It won't catch up until the cat has successfully swiped the hat and the hand-cannon from Alvilda. "Hey!" (She wasn't expecting it, either!) However, there'll only be just enough time to barely dodge it in an awesome and cinematic way that belongs in the movies.

Needless to say, if Purrlion dodges it, the electricity'll hit Alvilda.

Don't worry, though.
She can take it.
She's a pirate.
(Although, a pirate without her hat is almost not a pirate at all.)

"And we have our first winner, folks!" Dexter yells excitedly. "What a beautiful battle it was people. Reverend Gertrude has been defeated by Vis in a stunning display of skill and combat prowess. Give them both an applause!" He commands, and as a result much of the audience stands and gives loud cheers and claps to both of the competitors.

Vis looks a bit confused as well as spidy. Both seem to not belive they won. Only after the announcement was made they realize it. Vis walks over to spidy to hold him up, but before he can do it he get's a small schock.

"Arg. I forgot your static electricity."

He takes a small bow in front of his oponents as well as to the audience and then calls Spidy back into his ball. Then he runs of to the pokemon Center.

Madame de la Moy will wave at the audience as well, also heading to the pokemon centre. Sure, she could use her divine magic to heal Shuckle, but why bother when there's a machine nearby that will do so for free?

Flygirl turns to look at Huginn and releases a Pulse from her mouth (Dragon Pulse). It's likely to hurt, but won't do anything else.

Well, that attack might hit Flygirl herself. Anyways, it hits Huginn but he still sleeps until Mil finishes playing the right tune on the flute.

"Alright, time for a finishing piece. Hyper Beam."

Yes, Mil does use TM for his pokemon, so Freki does have that move. Freki opens his mouth, and fires off the beam at Steelwing, in a gambit to win this match.

The Skarmory is blasted, and feints. "Congratulations, man. You're good."

I haven't been using TMs; otherwise, I'd have had Skarmory use Rock Smash or X-Scissor last turn.

Luckily, there was a single small cannonball loaded.

The cannonball hits the bird square in the face. The electric bird dissipates into the air, no longer there.

Next, Alvilda can be heard shouting, “Ramming speed! Smash that hull! No Quarters! No prisoners!“ She overrides the Voltorb‘s guiding system by making motions with her fingers.

With that, Evil Doll begins rolling towards its opponent. It picks up speed.

As soon as it gets near enough, Evil Doll malfunctions and self-destructs. Boom. Explosion.

When the smoke clears, all that is left standing is a pirate hat. There's a Purrloin hidden inside, which had been using the tricorne headpiece as a shield, but is it still conscious, or has it fainted away?

The monitors suddenly update showing how the portrait of Gertrude in the 1vs1 tournament becomes grey and Vis moved into the final round.

In the 3vs3 tournament Dark Lighting's portrait fades to grey as Mil is lifted into the next round.

It looks like two battles are already finished! Good work Mil and Vis, I'm sure the audience will look forward to seeing you in the next rounds. I also like to thank our announcer Dexter for his work here. Good job! The audience love you as much as the trainers!

The audience start to cheer again.

It's obvious that Alvilda lost. Where the Voltorb was, there's just a smoking husk of technology often found in this particular Pokemon, accompanied by scorch marks on the ground. There's a half-melted nut here and a tiny screw there and shards of metal everywhere. There's also a burnt-out circuit board, of course, but that's to be expected.

Alvilda looks frustrated. Not only did she lose, she also lost her hat. She feels like just going off and burning something to the ground.

Nevertheless, she stands there and waits for the official announcement of what exactly happened.

Obviously, her Evil Doll is going to regenerate and auto-repair itself, as all voltorbs do when they explode, but that'll still take several hours before it can do any battling again.

On the Jumbotrun appears the picture of a tall building in Inside. A groube of people stand in front of it. The people all differ in their size from cat size (and maybe smaller just hard to see) up to giant size, all is covered.

Nance holds her breath, a bit stunned at the sudden explosion, wondering why anyone would kill their Pokemon like that, and really really hopes that Investigator is still alive.

"And in an amazing turn of events, The Pony Champion of Pazuzu has been knocked out of the Tournament in a wonder fluffy of attacks given by the Gym Leader Mil! Give the group a round of applause. Such a wonderful way for the first match of the 3v3 Tournaments to end. Bravo!" Dexter announces with a grin, clapping his hands before turning back to the mic.

"Now that Red and Grey Arenas are cleared of combatants for the moment, the two arenas will be cleaned and reset. Combatants, take a moment and go heal up. Rest, read, and relax for a final few moments before the next fighters are announced and may the gods of arenas and battle smile upon you in your next struggle."

Beatrix steps out into the red arena with her six chosen pokemons in her belt. Thad would probably be a tough fight but she was confident she'd be able to beat him.

Thad strolls out casually, his Ludicolo bopping along beside him as always. He effortlessly plays to the crowd, pointing, posing, and blowing kisses to his soon to be fans.

Taking his place at the opposite arena, he blows a kiss to his opponent, and then mouths out, "Good luck." She is going to need it.

Mouse breathes easier when she sees that Needs is still alive and proceeds to walk across the arena to scoop him up as well as offering her opponent a handshake.

Red Arena

Once he's done with the warning to the Grey Arena Trainers, Dexter maneuvers the hover platform over to the Red Arena. "Now for our third grouping in the Three vs Three team fights! First up..." He starts, pointing the lights down on Thad Green. "Thad Green! He's currently with Green Thumbs Pokemon Habitats, building safe and gorgeous habitats since 1995! Give the audience a bow, Thad! Everyone loves a working man after all." He tells the man with a wink. "Why, perhaps his opponent will have something to say on the matter!" Dexter says with a grin before the lights shine down on Beatrix.

"Say hello to Beatrix Linsel, a visiting Carthaginian! Well, my Purple Haired Princess, what say you? Are you going to let this young man charm you, or are you going to kick his rear all across this arena?" He asks, grinning. "Or, better yet, how about both? We all saw his gesture and everyone loves a fledgling romance, so why don't you show all that's watching how it goes?"

"Good luck, Romeo and Juliet. And remember the Shakespearean proverb..." .He starts with a wry smile

Now that the match is officially over, Alvilda gives her opponent a salute with her cutlass before resheathing it.

Alvilda walks out to meet her opponent halfway, and gives a handshake. "Arrr, yo-ho-ho, and other nautical talk. Ye be a fine captain," she says, giving the handshake. "Good luck, and you'd better not lose, or else." Glare.

After the formalities are over, she reaches down and picks up the largest and most important pieces of her fried Voltorb. "Good job; ye'll have a cannonball for breakfast as soon as you heal yerself." And, the auto-regeneration starts.

Once called to the match, Team Keeper takes their place on their side of the Arena, in a fan formation with Leon at the head. They work the crowd pretty well to make up for the weird looks the Trainerless team gets. Only Simon the flygon seems to lack total confidence.

Morrison goes to dodge, but he's too close, and the attack hits him. He skids back, holding an arm to his side where the attack hit. He's hurt, but he isn't done yet.

Razor sharp leaves launch at Crustella with a sweep of Morrison's arm.

The crustle takes several of the leaves to her shell, but just as many hit her body. She scitters backward a bit and retaliates. She launches a slide of rocks in Morrison's direction.

"Wobuffet," the Purrloin replies, still clinging to that pilfered hat. It dropped the gun without any argument when Mouse went to pick him up, but he'll be damned before he hands over this spiffy new hat he obtained in an entirely ethical and legal manner! :smallyuk:

Beatrix can't help but to stare at the announcer, while she had heard the way he had describe the other trainers (Becca especially) this guy really had no shame did he? Trying to focus on something else then what Dexter just had said (preferring not to think too deeply about it) she throws out her first pokeball instead.

"Suura, go!"

Appearing where the pokeball was thrown is a small blue skinned quadrupedal Pokémon with black fur covering its head and neck which conceals everything but its mouth from view. (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Deino_(Pok%C3%A9mon))

The Dieno stares blankly ahead but Beatrix still instinctively seem to take a step away from the pokemon once it's out. She seem to await Tha'ds move now.

Obviously, Alvilda doesn't take the hat back. After all, she had lost it fair and square. It's even written in the Pirate Code when it's morally acceptable to fight to the death for your hat back and when it's not. This particular instance, it's not because the Purrloin used it in a particularly spectacular method.

She does get the handheld cannon back, because, well, she had just bought it and it was brand-new.

After all that is over, Alvilda retires from the arena in order to let her Evil Doll regenerate and snack on a cannonball or two.

"I hope you don't mind the counterpick! Go Mistletoe!" A tree shaped pokemon with a white head, pine-leafy arms and bark-like hips and feet.

"Sno-Snover!" Mistletoe yells, feeling gung-ho. It flexes it's arms as it leans forward ready to attack. As soon as he's released, a cold win starts and flecks of snow begin to fly. The flecks turn to balls of ice quickly, buffeting randomly about the red arena. A hailstorm has started!

"Mistletoe, Ice Shard!" With that command, a large jagged ball of ice forms in the snover's hand. He then tosses it at the deino at high speed.

Aaha!

Beatrix expected a counter-pick!

"DODGE!" She yells loudly to the Deino, already as the other pokemon is coming out of it's pokeball. And the dragon pokemon is surprisingly nimble on it's four legs and rolls out of the way from the attack. "Follow up with dragon rage (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Dragon_Rage_(move))!" Beatrix yells out, her heart pumping in excitement. It had been a close one but if the dragon rage hit they could turn this fight around despite the type disadvantage.

Suura breathes out a beam of blue fire in the general direction of Misteltoe. Of course, considering Deino's are blind it's only firing where it believe the snover might be judging from where the ice shards it barely just dodged came from. She's good at guessing though, having been blind all her life.

The hailstorm continues to fly off of Mistletoe. Deino may be buffeted by random little hailstones.

"Push through! Icy Wind!" Thad figures Dragon rage is nothing to worry about the first time. Any strong pokemon can weather through, and Mistletoe has strength in spades.

Mistletoe is in the path of the dragon rage. He takes the hit, but pushes forward and to the side. He swipes at the air and frigid wind and ice crystal fly from the piney arm to the Deino.

Damn it, Misteltoe was stronger than Beatrix had expected. Urk, never underestimate your enemy!

The snover goes through the fire and gets in a direct hit on Suura who cries out in pain. The fact it was snowing around them didn't make things any better either. "Recover! Show him your teeth!"

And with that Suura does what she does best, biting. Or at least she attempts to, leaping out in the direction of Misteltoe wit surprising agility she attempts to sink her teeth into the Snover's hide.

The snover gets bitten rather hard, letting out a pained cry which quickly turns into an aggressive roar.

Thad... smiles? He was hoping to draw a Beatrix into a trap, but he also figured he'd have to power through the dragon-type. Waste not want not.

"Don't let it get away. Put it to sleep!" He's been very aggressive while commanding Mistletoe thus far. His muscles are clenched, coiled like a spring waiting to release. It's a far cry from the charming teen he was earlier in the locker room.

"Snooo-ver!" Mistletoe grunts as he tries to wrap it's arms around the Deino and grasswhistle into it's ear, trying to put it to sleep. It's not as pretty or whimsical as the Roselia's was. It sounds like more of a shriek, or if a steam whistle could oscillate it's pitch.

Randii grits her teeth as the rocks slide towards Morrison. She agrees with Becca's thinking that Crustella has the advantage here.

Morrison! Get outta the way!

Morrison goes to dodge, but the injuries he has so far slow him down. He manages to avoid the worst of the attack, but he still gets hit, and isn't looking so good.

Randii knows that Morrison won't last much longer, so she has to make this next attack count.

Alright, Morrison! Hit her with Energy Ball!

Morrison holds his arms out in front of him, and bright light starts to collect between them. If Crustella tries to move now, Morrison will just follow her. Once the ball of light has been charged up, Morrison launches it right at his opponent.

Oof, that hit a bit harder, though maybe not as hard as Morrison would have hopes. The crustle barely even moves, unexpected with her bulk. She fires another barrage of rocks like she had lead with at the beginning of the fight. A few fast missiles should be harder to dodge than other attacks. Or that's the idea.
