Protection from X spells

Do you have to learn/prepare Protection from X spells independently from one another, or can you learn one or prepare one then cast the appropriate version based on what you are fighting against, like say resist energy? I'm pretty sure you can't but they are listed on the spells lists in the PHB as protection from chaos/evil/good/law so maybe you can.

They are all separate spells, and must be learned and prepared individually, but a Nar Demonbinder can convert the various Magic Circles/Dispels/Auras/Blasphemy as the various alignment ones spontaneously.

They're all separate spells. Some casters (mostly divine casters) are unable to cast certain of them.

Well so much for possibly picking that for a sorcerer gish, its hard when your evil having to deal with good and evil things trying to kill you ha ha.
