The prestige class says "The Ashworm gets the benefits of being a Paladin's special mount." Does this mean that the Ashworm levels stack with Paladin levels for determining it's bonuses, or just that any bonus you already have from being a Paladin in your first five levels can be applied? And if the they don't stack, is there some feat or ability out their that would let them stack?

It doesn't say that say a paladin8/dragoon8 can apply all the abilities of a 16th level paladin, so I'll assume they don't stack.

If they don't stack, look at the abilities you get as a paladin, and the ones you get as a dragoon. If they both offer the same bonus, say improved AC or intelligence, take whichever bonus is greater.

It gets the benefits from your Paladin levels, and the benefits from your Ashworm Dragoon levels. They're two separate sets of benefits. The benefits stack, the levels don't. Since Ashworm Dragoon doesn't by itself advance anything like Paladin mount, there's no way to make them stack, and you'd be getting double advancement if you did.
