Temple of Iames II

[Lord Iames Osari]

This appears to be a rather ordinary building that is also someone's home; nothing like the Temples of Inari or Zamrel.

The lobby is fairly spacious, with a small altar and a modest statue of Iames on it. Behind the altar is a glowing white portal leading to Iames's planar realm. There is a single NPC here, a lantern archon named Photos who has begun taking class levels as a cleric. The Temple is warded against divination and teleportation.

Lyrak and Kosuke return to the Temple, and Lyrak retires.

Lyrak gets up and goes to pray.

Lyrak finishes praying and gets up. Kosuke rouses from his meditation and stands as well, shifting to his NPC form. Lyrak sighs. Photos, if Tehanu comes back before I do, tell her that I've gone on a journey to gain experience and power, and I should be back soon.

How soon?

I don't know. I'm going to a plane where time flows differently, so I really don't know. I'm told time flows moderately faster there.

Very well. Iames guide you, Lyrak.

Iames guide you, Photos. Lyrak looks to Kosuke. I'm ready.

Kosuke nods and opens a gate. Lyrak steps through, and then Kosuke does likewise.

Gaheris poked his head into the temple. "Hello? Lyrak?"

The cleric did not answer. Instead, a ball of brilliant golden light that Gaheris instantly recognized as a lantern archon floated up to him. May I help you?

Gaheris inclined his head. "Yes, noble archon. I seek Lyrak. Is he here?"

No, he is not. I do not know when he will return.

"I see," responded Gaheris. "When he does, would you inform him that Gaheris of Tyr was here to see him and will return at a later time?"

Certainly. I will tell him as soon as he returns.

"Many thanks," answered Gaheris, bowing slightly at the waist. "I will return later tonight or perhaps tomorrow." He turned and left the temple.

Tehanu walks in and looks around for Lyrak.

Photos bobs over

"Do you know where Lyrak is?"

He went to another plane to gain experience, he didn't know when he would back.

"Thank you Photos." Tehanu walks into the bedroom, slips out of her dress and gets into bed. She gathers his pillow into her arms and smells his scent, missing him so much. She quickly goes to sleep, so tired from her job.

Tehanu wakes with a sudden start, she looks around in the darkness then remembers it was a dream. She reaches for Lyrak and remembers he's not back yet. She pulls his pillow back over and tries to go back to sleep.

((*Feels bad about having Lyrak go away*))

Tehanu wakes up and misses Lyrak. She studies her spells and puts away her spellbook when she's done. She gets up, bathes and puts on her dress and heels. She looks around one last time before she leaves the Temple. Please come back soon Lyrak.

Gaheris arrived, determined that Lyrak still wasn't back, and left, beginning to worry.

[Don't feel like doing the whole NPC thing; roleplaying with myself doesn't really do it for me.]

Tehanu walks into the Temple of Iames, she looks longingly at the bedroom. She looks worn out and tired, mentally and physically.

Photos comes out, He isn't back yet

Tehanu nods in understanding and goes to kneel before the statue of Iames.

Iames appears. Hello, Tehanu.

She looks up at him, "Please can you tell me when Lyrak will return?" I need him, mentally and physically.

[Lord Iames Osari]

I had planned for him to return three days from today. Sensing her need, Iames adds, If you would like, he can return now, but only for a single day.

Tehanu looks up at him with pleading eyes, then she looks down at the floor. "Please"

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames nods. It will take a few moments. He looks off into the distance, and his eyes glow.

Tehanu waits and stares at the floor.

[Lord Iames Osari]

After a few moments, a portal opens, white light shining brightly from it.

[wxdruid]

She watches the portal from the corner of her eye, not looking directly at it.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak steps out of the portal, looking about as bad as Tehanu. There's dirt all over his robe, the bottom few inches of which has been ripped off; instead of his usual soft shoes, Lyrak is wearing hard, scuffed leather boots; a revolver is tucked into his sash, and a bandolier of ammunition crosses his chest. On his back, he carries a not-insubstantial haversack.

His eyes light up as he sees Tehanu, and he sets his pack heavily to the floor as a smile splits his face and he rushes toward her, his arms ready to pull her into a tight embrace and a passionate kiss.

Behind him, Kosuke ducks through the portal, looking about as dirty and rough as Lyrak.

The portal closes as Kosuke steps out of it.

Tehanu looks up at him and doesn't even see the dirt or equipment. She sees his blue eyes and his smile. As he comes towards her, she reaches out and they embrace, she kisses him back. So happy to see him.

Iames smiles and disappears.

Lyrak pulls back from the kiss. I've missed you, beautiful, he says.

Tehanu whispers back "I've missed you so much, Lover." as she buries her face in his neck, tightening her arms around him.

Lyrak buries his face in her hair and breathes in her scent, sighing contentedly.

Tehanu relaxes mentally and physically into his arms. "How have you been? Have you been alright?"

I've been fine, for the most part. As fine as one can be in a war. But I'm here, in one piece, and stronger than when I left, and that's what counts.

Tehanu runs her hands through his hair, "I've missed you so much, you're the only I want to sleep next to, the only one I want to reach out for in the night, the only one. I just feel like I'm slowly going crazy without you here." She reburies her face into his hair and just smells him.

[Lord Iames Osari]

His scent is much stronger than usual - perhaps even offensively strong, given that he obviously hasn't had an opportunity to bathe in at least several days.

It's the same way for me. If it hadn't been for the others trusting me to look after them, and having to not let them down, I don't know if I'd still be sane. As she buries her face in his hair, he winces apologetically. I could use a bath, too.

Tehanu leans back and smiles, "I always love the way you smell. I could also use a bath, together?"

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak nods, smiling, and leads the way to the bathroom.

Tehanu follows him and closes the door behind them.

Lyrak comes out of the bathroom, nice and clean and wearing a robe.

Tehanu follows him out wearing a robe as well, smiling as she watches him.

Tehanu walks up behind him, nuzzling her face into his wet hair and neck. "I know, and with you, well, that goes without saying. Hungry?"

Lyrak nods. The food I've been having isn't awful, but it sure isn't the kind of thing you get at Trog's or Hank's.

Tehanu smiles, "Should I get dressed?" and puts her arms around him, bringing her hands up his chest.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak shakes his head. No, that's fine. I'll make something for us here. He gently removes her hands and goes to the kitchen, where he cooks a nice meal.

Tehanu smiles and follows him into the kitchen. She sets the table and they sit down to eat the delicious food he has prepared. They both smile and watch each other, not wanting to miss one moment of their day together.

Lyrak leans back, his plate clean, and notices that Tehanu is still eating. He opens his mouth to remind her that another attack could be coming at any minute, then remembers that he's not on a battlefield anymore and shuts it.

Tehanu finishes, "That was delicious, Lover. What would you like to do now, a backrub?"

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak nods. That sounds great. He stands and picks up his dishes to be washed later.

Tehanu picks her plate up and takes it over to him. She smiles at him before she heads to the bedroom.

Lyrak follows her in and lies face-down on the bed.

Tehanu sighs with pleasure as she gently removes his robe and gets to work on his back.

[wxdruid]

Tehanu sighs and gently lies down next to him, running one hand through his hair, "How did that feel?"

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak has his eyes closed, and he's smiling. Wonderful, as always.

Tehanu smiles and pulls the covers up so he won't get cold. She snuggles closer to him, "I love you, Lyrak."

[Lord Iames Osari]

I love you too, Tehanu. He puts his arm around her and holds her tight.

[wxdruid]

Tehanu runs one hand along his arms, "I missed you so much."

[Lord Iames Osari]

Me too, I can't tell you how much. It's been weeks.

[wxdruid]

"That long? I'm sorry Lover, I had no idea. Is there anything special you would like to do tonight before you have to go back?"

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak bites his lip, thinking. Hang on a moment... He concentrates, and his eyes glow green.

Tehanu waits, I so love the feeling of him next to me. *sigh*

[Lord Iames Osari]

The glow disappears, and Lyrak smiles. Let's go for a walk. I know a good place. He gets out of bed and starts getting dressed. His hands hover over his bandolier and pistol, but he doesn't put them on. He does, however, put on his boots rather than his shoes.

Tehanu watches him before she gets dressed as well. "May I ask, or is it a surprise? Should I bring something warm to wear?"

It's out in the countryside. And I would adivse something warm, yes. Lyrak grabs a clean cloak and drapes it around his shoulders, fastening the clasp at his neck.

Tehanu folds a blanket and puts on her heavy cloak, "I'm ready lover."

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak smiles and holds out a hand.

[wxdruid]

Tehanu takes his hand, draws close to him for a quick kiss on his cheek before they leave the Temple together.

((What are you looking at me for? They left already!))

Tehanu walks inside and turns to wait for Lyrak.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak comes in behind her.

[wxdruid]

"Lord Iames gave me these heels. They have teleport 3 times per day. In case of problems. Or," as she approaches him and takes his hands, ....... *kiss*

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak doesn't respond. For obvious reasons. After a while, he pulls away. Oh. Well, let's get to bed. He begins moving to the bedroom, his arm around her shoulders.

Tehanu smiles as he pulls her into the bedroom.

Lyrak smiles back and closes the door behind them.

Lyrak wakes up and snuggles close to Tehanu, not wanting to think about having to leave in a few hours.

Tehanu wakes up and smiles. She pulls his arms tightly around and lightly kisses his fingertips as she sighs, I don't want him to leave and I don't want to go back. She kisses him until he wakes up and pulls the covers up as she shows him just how much she loves him and missed him.

Lyrak pulls away with a sigh. Sorry to cut this short, but I think my time is up.

She looks sad, "I love you, come back soon."

[Lord Iames Osari]

I love you too, and I'll come back as soon as I can. He leans closer for one more kiss.

She kisses him back.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak pulls away reluctantly, gets out of bed and gets dressed. He puts on his bandolier and tucks his pistol into his sash, then goes out to the main area, where he hoists his pack up onto his back. Kosuke? Let's go.

Kosuke transforms back into human form, then opens a gate. Lyrak steps through it, and Kosuke follows, the gate closing behind him.

Tehanu watches him go, Stay safe, Lover. She stays in bed for awhile longer, smelling his scent on the covers. Finally she pulls out her spellbook and tries to study unsuccessfully. She gets frustrated, gets out of bed and gets dressed. She leaves the Temple.

Svadris and Thud stop outside the door. Well, well, well... look how things change... Thud, knock on the door... politely.

Thud raises one massive fist and knocks three times.

Come in, Photos says from inside.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Thud pushes the door open and walks in. Svadris hesitates for a split second, but forces himself to walk forward.

Photos floats over to them and bobs in a way that gives the impression of a shallow bow. How may I help you gentlemen?

[Lord Iames Osari]

Oh, I used to live here in this building, and I was wondering if you could tell me what happened to the young man who I gave the house to.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Photos hesitates. I'm sorry, sir. I'm relatively new here and I don't know much about the area. Priest Lyrak will be back from his trip in a few days, though; you can ask him then.

Behind his sunglasses, Svadris's eyes widen. I think I will do that; I certainly hope that this Priest Lyrak can help me. Come, Thud.

Yes, Master.

They leave the temple.

Game comes out of the portal and looks around. Chirrr? Is anyone here?

Photos floats over. Hello, little creature. Can I help you?

Chirr. I'm just wondering if there's anyone here. I'm Game, what's your name?

I am Photos. I'm afraid I'm the only one here at the moment, Game.

Chirrrr. Oh. Well, I guess I'l go looking for more people. See you later! Game flies out the door.

Gaheris once again did the whole looking for Lyrak thing and left.

The portal opens again, and Lyrak once again steps out, followed by Kosuke. Unlike the last time, he's had time to clean himself up before returning. Photos bobs over.

Hello, Priest Lyrak. It's good to have you back. Gaheris has been looking for you.

Lyrak nods. Is Tehanu here?

Photos moves from side to side in an approximation of a headshake. No, I'm afraid not.

Lyrak sighs. Oh, well. Have things been busy while I was gone?

Not especially. We've had the usual influx of NPCs, but apart from that, nothing.

Lyrak nods. Alright. I'll be in the back if anything comes up. He goes to the study and settles in one of the chairs.

Tehanu appears right in front of the door, she slips in and heads immediately for the bathing area. She's wearing hot pink paint all over her hair and clothes.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak sees her as she heads for the bathroom and smiles. His smile widens as he sees her covered in pink paint. What happened to you? he asks, smothering his laughter.

Tehanu smiles as she sees Lyrak, "I'm glad you're back." She watches him try to smother his laughter and her smile turns wicked, "I see you need a little lesson," as she turns and stalks towards him.

If you say so. And here I was going to offer to help wash it off.

"Oh really? before or after I kissed you?" and got plenty on you!

[Lord Iames Osari]

I was thinking before, but then again, I'll need to change my clothes anyway, so why not now? Lyrak goes over to her and wraps her in an embrace both physical and mental, kissing her deeply.

Tehanu passionately kisses him back and runs her hands through his hair. She presses her body up against him, getting plenty of paint on him.

Lyrak pulls back and smiles. Now, how about a bath?

Tehanu smiles at him, "Yes, sounds perfect"

Lyrak goes to the bathroom door, opens it, and motions her inside.

Tehanu goes through and pulls Lyrak in behind her, slamming the door shut.

Lyrak comes out of the bathroom, wearing a robe. It feels wonderful to be back for good this time.

Tehanu follows him, wearing her robe. She smiles, "Mmm, nothing's better than running my hands all over you."

Lyrak blushes, but smiles as well. I can say the same thing.

Tehanu's smile widens, "Always! Are you hungry?"

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak nods. Yes.

[wxdruid]

"Shall we go out? or as I prefer, stay in?"

[Lord Iames Osari]

I think I'd like to go out today, if you don't mind. Hookah Hank's sound good?

"Yes, I'll just get dressed," as she looks him up and down, "You can just stay like that so I can do whatever I want," as she gets a twinkle in her eye.

Lyrak blushes again, but knows better than to argue. Of course. If I'm dragging you around with me, the least I can do is make sure you have fun. He grins at her.

Tehanu smiles wickedly and kisses him before she goes into the bedroom to change.

Lyrak goes to tell Kosuke that he won't be needed.

Tehanu comes back out, wearing her black dress, her hair done perfectly and her high heels on.

Lyrak comes back and takes her hand. Ready?

"Yes, Lover, I'm ready" as she waits for the compliment.

He smiles. You look even more beautiful than usual. He casts endure elements on her, and then on himself. Okay, let's go.

Tehanu smiles and takes his hand, "Yes, let's go Blue Eyes."

Lyrak grins and leads the way to the door. He opens it.

She walks out and waits for him in the streets.

Lyrak goes out.

Lyrak and Tehanu come back from dinner. She smiles at him and takes his hand. He smiles back and takes her hand, they both head for the bedroom. He closes the door as she pulls on his bathrobe sash.

Pelward walks in, and looks around. Hello? Anybody here?
he walks up to the door beside the altar, and opens it.

He sees a small room with two easy chairs on either side of a small table.

Photos the lantern archon floats over. May I help you, sir?

[Pelward]

Yes, actually. Is High Priest Lyrak here?

[Lord Iames Osari]

Photos moves from side to side in a fairly good approximation of a headshake. He's here, but... indisposed. And he hardly thinks of himself as a "High" Priest. Who may I say was calling?

[Pelward]

I am Pelward, Priest of Iames. And since there's only two of us, and he's been at it longer, that makes him High Priest, doesn't it?

... I suppose it does. Very well; I will tell him that you called.

Should I take that as a hint to leave?

Not at all; you are perfectly welcome to stay if you wish. It may be quite a while before he is able to speak with you, however.

No, that's fine. When he is able to talk with me, tell him I will be at Trog's Tavern. And how exactly is he "indisposed"? It's hard to imagine an ailment he couldn't cure himself of.

Oh, Priest Lyrak recently returned from fighting in a war in another plane. It's nothing more than a case of exhaustion; he should be up and about by tomorrow.

Well, wish him well for me. As I said before, I'll be at Trog's. He walks out.

Lyrak sighs happily as he lies in bed, snuggled with Tehanu. I love you, he says.

She smiles, "I love you, and considering me, that's an unusual thing for me to say, but for you, I'll say it all day long." She lightly strokes his arms and kisses his fingertips.

[Lord Iames Osari]

He smiles and pulls her tighter against him. That makes me very happy. But it shouldn't be said too often, I think.

teasingly, "Yes, My Lord, I'll remember that. I prefer to call you Blue Eyes or Lover." as she reaches one hand back to run her fingers through his hair. "I'm very happy to have you back in one piece."

I'm very happy to be back in one piece. How did things go without me?

"I was gone most of the time. I missed you terribly, it just isn't the same without you. How was it where you were?"

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak thinks. It was miserable, muddy and lonely, and at the same time one of the best experiences I've had. The unit I was put in with - for the first time, I was someone who was depended on rather than protected by others.

"Sounds interesting and dirty." Tehanu turns over in his arms to face him, "Lyrak, Lover....I don't want you to think ... I don't know, but you have no idea. For some reason," and she smiles at him, "I've come to depend on you for my sanity."

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak smiles back. I'll do my best to help preserve it.

"Thank you Lover, I know that I'll be depending on you for a long time." Tehanu leans forward and kisses his cheek.

Lyrak snuggles closer to her. It makes me happy to be able to help you.

Tehanu smiles and buries her face in his neck and hair. "More than you know, Lover."

Lyrak kisses her neck and lets his hands wander.

Tehanu lightly laughs and reaches briefly over the side of the bed. She grabs the sash from her robe and smiles as she hands it to him.

Gaheris entered the temple, still looking a little worse for wear and seeming more reserved than normal. "Photos, is Lyrak here?" He paused for a second as he thought about something. "And available to speak with?"

[Lord Iames Osari]

Let me check... Photos floats off to the back room. Lyrak, Gaheris is here to speak with you. Is now a bad time?

Lyrak sighs. Sorry, beautiful. At least we didn't get too far into things. He gets out of bed and starts to get dressed. I'll be right out, Photos.

Photos floats back to the main area. Lyrak will be with you shortly.

Tehanu sighs, "I'll wait right here for you."

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak nods, finishes dressing and goes out to the main area. Yes, Gaheris?

[Renegade Paladin]

Gaheris had an uneasy feeling that he knew why Lyrak took so long to emerge. "Is now a bad time? It isn't terribly important, but I've been trying to reach you for four days."

[Lord Iames Osari]

Now is fine, Lyrak says firmly. What did you want to talk to me about?

[Renegade Paladin]

Gaheris relaxed noticeably, but still got right to the point. "I'll tell you the original reason I've been trying to reach you first. A few days ago, Percival told me that he'd seen you and Arha fighting undead in the graveyard while he was out flying. I decided to go by later and check out the area, but found no signs of an undead infestation. I was curious as to what was going on that would cause a solar trouble one hour and then have completely vanished the next."

[Lord Iames Osari]

Oh, she was helping me practice to become more powerful. Kosuke wasn't having trouble, he was just restraining himself to let me deal with things. But things got a bit out of hand; I think Vahlziir decided to interfere.

[Renegade Paladin]

A flash of disapproval coursed across Gaheris' face for just a moment before vanishing. He gave an understated smile. "I'm not entirely sure that exposing her to that element of her past is a great idea while she's recovering, but that's not why I'm here." The smile vanished. "Vahlziir is much more worrisome. Is there any handle on where he is or how to find him?" The paladin studiously avoided the question of what he wanted, not wishing to force Lyrak to implicate Tehanu if he could help it.

Lyrak notices the look of disapproval. I wasn't particularly comfortable with it myself, but it was all I could think of at the time. And Kosuke did make sure that the remains could never be used that way again.

Anyway, as for Vahlziir's whereabouts, I'm looking into it. I'll let you know if I find anything. Was there anything else you wanted to talk to me about?

[Renegade Paladin]

His face turned graver. "The Mafia executed it's planned hit on Mayor Gwen yesterday. The Dark personally oversaw the hit; I could do nothing. I don't know if Iames is aware of that avatar's actions; he didn't seem to be last time we talked about it. If you see him before I do, make sure he knows. I'll let you go back to Arha now; I'm sure she's eager to see you after so long away." He gave a lopsided smile and inclined his head towards the priest, reaching back for his hood in preparation to go out into the streets, but didn't quite turn to leave right away, waiting to see if Lyrak would want to say anything else.

Lyrak nods. I'll mention it in my prayers tomorrow morning. He returns the lopsided smile. And she is. Gods guide you, Gaheris.

[Renegade Paladin]

"And you as well. Give her my best wishes," he said as he turned and pulled the hood over his head. Once again just another black-cloaked figure, the paladin opened the front door and walked out.

Lyrak turns and goes back to the bedroom. Gaheris sends his regards, he informs Tehanu, then grins. Now, where were we? He starts to undress.

She holds out the sash, "I believe you were going to have some fun?" as she watches him undress.

Lyrak wakes up and snuggles up to Tehanu, not wanting to get out of bed just yet.

Eventually, Lyrak sighs, gets out of bed, dresses, and goes to pray.

Tehanu stays in bed for most of the day, unwilling to get up.

A cold, cruel voice echoes through Tehanu's mind. "Enjoying yourself, Arha? Perhaps you need a reminder that I do not tolerate disobedience? Time is running out... and you don't want it to run out entirely, do you? You're growing weak, Arha. The weak do not survive; I have no use for them. I'm giving you one last chance, just one, and if you waste it... you can't even fathom what I will do to your life." The presence withdraws from her mind.

Tehanu brings her hands up to her head as she says "No, no, I will obey you Master." She gets out of bed and quickly starts to get dressed.

Lyrak finishes tending to the last of the NPCs and goes into the study.

Tehanu comes to find him, "Lover, I must go, I'm sorry." as she puts her arms around him.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak hugs her. It's alright. And it will al be over soon.

[wxdruid]

"I'll be gone for several days at the least. I'll miss you and I love you." as she kisses him passionately.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak kisses her back, brushing her mind with his to reassure her of his love, but not wrapping her in it, not wanting to make her delay still longer and provoke Vahlziir. I'll miss you too. But I promise, you won't be subject to his will forever. Lyrak's eyes harden at this last.

Tehanu tightens her arms around him, briefly burying her face in his hair and neck before she steps back. "Goodbye, Lover," she says sadly as she leaves the Temple.

She makes it sound so final... Lyrak watches her go, then sits in one of the chairs in the study and begins trying everything he can to find out everything he can about Vahlziir.

((i.e., he's using divinations and clairsentience powers like crazy))

[Atreyu the Masked LLama]

*Atreyu trots in and bows politely to the Lantern Archon.*
"Ummm...hi. I was hoping to speak to Iames. I ...he...I'm kinda new at this god hood thing and I was hoping he could help me out. If he's busy, that's okay, but I think my godhood is broken."

Atreyu looks behind himself to see if Ms. E and Evander will join him.

Ms E appears sitting upon Evander's shoulder. His huge frame stoops a little to get underneath the door. "We're with the llama."

Lord Iames? There is a llama here who wishes to speak with you.

[Atreyu the Masked LLama]

"Hiya. Are you a priest of Iames?"

*The llama looks around for Iames and bleats happily at Ms. E.*

Iames appears. Yes?

"Hiya Iames" *Atreyu bows low.*
"well, you see, I recently received this portfolio of hay and apparently I'm a god now, but I've had no real training at it. I'm not hearing prayers from people, I'm not realy doing much other than eating and sleeping on hay. Do you have any tips or advice or anything?"

[Ms_Elaneous]

"When did this happen?" Ms E says off to the side.

"It would appear several people within this place are gods." Evander whispers back.

"I pray that I never am. Too much work," she concludes.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Um. Unfortunately, no. I'm sorry, but I simply knew how to use my abilities when I acquired them... except the avatar one. That I had to learn.

[Atreyu the Masked LLama]

*Atreyu's ears kinda droop a little* "Oh....ummmm....okay. Thanks for your time. I'm sure you're busy with the police force and stuff."

*He turns to Ms. E.* "Yeah. One of the people I own my sanity to is apparently an avatar and he needed a God to serve, so he gave me a portfolio of one of his former gods. Its tasty, at least."

(Yikes I need to get to sleep soon.)

"Ah, I see. Well, you want to head somewhere to stay for the night? There's always Inari, unless you have some other place you usually stay?" Ms E yawns a little herself.
"My lady is in need of rest, so this is actually quite convenient." Evander adds.

Ms E and Evander both nod politely at Iames and his priests.

[Atreyu the Masked LLama]

"Its okay, Iames. I'll visit some other places and see if they have any advice. Maybe I'll try that avatar thing later, but I think Myobu is my avatar."

*Atreyu nods at Ms. E.* "Inari's sounds good. Let's head out."

Oh, and I do like the layout of the Temple. I wonder if I'm gonna need one. What should I do? I kinda like Inari's, but Banjo's is kinda fun."
*Atreyu wanders out, talking mostly to himself.*

Iames's avatar disappears.

Tehanu walks into the Temple and looks for Lyrak. She looks tired and worn out.

Lyrak looks up as she comes in and a spark of anger flares in his eyes. He scowls and turns his back to her, facing the altar. I thought I told you not to come back.

Tehanu backs up a few steps, "Lyrak?"

[Lord Iames Osari]

You heard me, Tehanu, Lyrak says softly. You've been using me as your plaything long enough, and I won't stand for it any longer. I thought... I thought I could change you, his voice chokes up, but I guess you're too strong-willed for that. You've used me, betrayed me, and I want you to leave. His hands clench into fists, and his arms and back are tense, as if he is fighting the urge to strike out at her.

"No Lyrak, never, please....don't say that," she drops to her knees behind him, "please"

[Lord Iames Osari]

I'm not going to fall for it again, Tehanu. Lyrak's arms and fists start to quiver with the effort of holding himself back.

Tehanu puts her hands over her face as she starts to cry,

"no, no, please, I can't take this, please, don't"

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak scowls again; he ignores Tehanu's pleas, utterly convinced that they are nothing more than extremely convincing falsehoods. You can stay in the guest room tonight, but tomorrow, you will leave, even if I have to throw you out.

"Please, Lyrak, no...." She looks up at him, and holds out her hands to him, "please"

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak still has his back to her, but though his heart hurts every time she asks him not to do what he is determined to do, his resolve remains unshaken, as does his certainty that she is merely trying to manipulate him.

She watches him with tear filled eyes, trying to understand but not grasping what has happened. She puts her head back in her hands and cries.

Lyrak sighs and stalks off to the kitchen.

[wxdruid]

Tehanu slowly stands as he leaves the room, she goes in and collects her few things. Her head hanging the entire time, she doesn't look up and moves as though she's in a dream and wants to wake up but doesn't have the power.

She quickly glances to make sure he hasn't followed her before she quickly kneels down by the bed. She runs her hands over the blankets and brings them to her face. She inhales his scent, loathe to leave him but not knowing what else to do. I can't go back to guest room with him across the hall, no, she breaks down into tears again. Finally she finishes gathering up her things and with one sad glance looks back before she leaves.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak comes out of the kitchen and looks around, then shrugs and goes back in, where he sits down to the meal he had prepared. For a moment, his eyes light on the place where Tehanu should have been, but he looks away angrily, then begins to eat, alone.

Lyrak leaves the temple, feeling much more like his usual self.

Iames appears. Photos, where's Lyrak? It is imperative that I speak to him.

He went out just a few minutes ago, My Lord.

Thank you, Photos. Iames concentrates for a few moments, then disappears again.

Lyrak comes back in. Kosuke?

What is it, Lyrak?

We're going after Vahlziir soon. Get ready.

Gaheris entered after Lyrak. He was already well prepared, so he pulled out a whetstone and produced a dagger from somewhere within his cloak. He began to sharpen the blade as he paced back and forth in the entrance hall.

Kosuke nods. I am ready now. He stretches, then transforms into a rather ordinary-looking NPC.

Good. We're stopping at Goldshadows' first. Lyrak heads out the door, and Kosuke follows.

Gaheris nodded and shoved the dagger back into it's hidden fold before following.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak and Kosuke enter, the solar carrying a sleeping woman. Kosuke, put Eva in the guest room. Kosuke does so, and Lyrak goes into his bedroom. Sagas, I want you to go to the Emperor's Palace and wait for Tehanu there so that I can talk to her. Sagas, Lyrak's psicrystal, flies off.

Lyrak smiles to himself, then goes into the vaults to find himself a piece of crystal to use as a holy symbol.

[Flabbicus]

A damaged illithid walks through the door to the temple. He has severe burns, and whisps of dark energy trail off of parts of his body. He also has some electricity damage as well as a few crossbow bolts in his midsection.

Hello? I know someone's hear. I figured this would be the only place that accepts a mindflayer and you're support of psionics didn't hurt either.

He looks around for a cleric.

He looks surprised to see an archon at a place were any alignments are accepted.

Hello. I was attacked by Daerbain, who then said his name was Darein. I think he was insane before he attacked me, then became sane, and then he fled after I told him where we were. If you mean the wounds, he electrocuted me, shot me, set me on fire with dark magic, tried to impale me... and I think that's it.

Ah, I see. I think your wounds may be beyond my talents. Wait a moment while I fetch Priest Lyrak. Photos bobs away into the back room.

I can wait. Not like I have anything else to do.

Oddly enough, the illithid begins to whistle.

Priest Lyrak, there is an illithid here. He is in need of healing and appears quite hurt.

Very well. Lyrak goes out into the main area and winces as he sees the damage. I see what you mean, Photos. He approaches the illithid and casts heal.

[Flabbicus]

Many of the wounds disappear and the illithid plucks the bolts out of its torso.

Thank you thra-priest. Might I say that this is the first temple which willingly accepted me into its premises, at least, the first to my knowledge. My name is Flabbicus and you have my thanks.

He bows, which looks rather odd considering his tentacles flap down with him.

He is a fairly new god, and from another plane as well.

The illithid bows again and walks out, depositing a few gold pieces in a dish or table as recompense.

Lyrak smiles uncertainly, then goes back to his meditations.

Lyrak wrinkles his nose as the stench of death assails his nostrils. He runs to the vaults and comes back with a diamond. He casts raise dead on her.

Lyrak curses under his breath, then picks up her body and carries it out of the temple.

Lyrak enters the Temple and goes to the bathroom, where he washes away the soot and dirt of his efforts. Pulling on a clean set of clothes, he sits in the chair and follows his link with Sagas.

Lyrak sighs and goes to bed.

Tehanu quietly slips into the Temple and looks around for Lyrak.

Lyrak is just coming out of the confession room with an NPC. Seein her, he rushes over and takes her in his arms, kissing her passionately. You're here, you came...

Tehanu kisses him back and buries her face in his neck. She inhales and presses her body up against his.

Mmmm, you look tired. I think you need to go to bed. Lyrak grins, giving her an affectionate pinch.

The NPC stares for a moment, then makes a hurried exit.

Tehanu kisses his neck and moves her hands up his back.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak inhales a bit, and his grin widens. You definitely need to go to bed. He disengages from the embrace and leads the way to the bedroom.

Tehanu smiles as she watches him walk into the bedroom, she follows and closes the bedroom door behind her.

Lyrak sighs happily and snuggles closer to Tehanu. It's so good to have you back.

"I know Lover, I've missed your arms around me. I must go back soon though."

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak nods sadly. I know. We'll just have to make the best of it.

Tehanu smiles and runs her fingers down his arms to his hands. She brings his hands up and kisses his fingertips. "Yes, we will. I have a few more hours left."

That's good, Lyrak breathes in her ear, letting his hands wander over her body.

Tehanu continues to smile as she moves her head towards him and captures one of his hands, her other hand pulls the covers up.

Tehanu sighs regretfully as she puts one hand on his cheek, "I really must get back."

[Lord Iames Osari]

Alright, he says, putting a hand over hers.

[wxdruid]

Her eyes are full of sorrow as she looks at him, "I miss you so much when I'm gone. I love you and I will miss you. I'll find time to bring out Sagas while I'm at the Palace." She kisses him once more.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak kisses her back, then pulls away reluctantly. I know, he tells her. I love you too.

She gently strokes his cheek before she turns and gets out of bed. She puts on her dress and heels before running one hand through her hair. She briefly looks back at Lyrak, her eyes full of love for him, "I'll be back when I can." She leaves the Temple.

Lyrak gets up and gets dressed, then goes to help Photos tend to the NPCs who have come to the temple seeking help.

The temple doors open slowly and a blood-spattered, green-haired, yellow-eyed man steps inside. "Hello?" he calls. "I'm looking fer a guy named Lyrak. I wuz wondering if this might be where he lives?"

The mutt who was patroling the streets follows him in. He looks up at the man but doesn't say anything.

Jacky glances at the dog and shoots it a nasty look.

The mutt is wearing a police badge on his collar. He goes and curls up in a corner and watches the man.

I am Lyrak. What do you nee- Lyrak looks up and his eyes widen, then narrow. YOU! Kosuke!

A nondescript man sitting crosslegged in one corner opens his eyes. Yes, Lyrak?

Lyrak jabs a finger at the new arrival. This is the man Vahlziir summoned.

Kosuke looks at Jacky and gets to his feet. I understand, Lyrak. Kosuke's form seems to melt and expand; a pair of white feathered wings sprout from his back, and his skin turns silver. The dagger at his side becomes a mighty greatsword, and a great bow appears in his hands.

Lyrak swiftly chants a pair of spells.

The mutt growls and stands up.
