Are there any feats that basically give me the Powerful Build ability?

No. You can however pick up Jotunbrud if you're human, which gives some of the benefits of powerful build, but not all.

That works. Gonna try a chain tripper and figure that will help.

Go knight (PHBII) long enough to pick up Bulwark of Defence, and couple with Crusader if ToB is on the table.
